5 of our friendly, docile American Blue rabbits are ready to hop to new homes. Kindled 10/21and 11/3. All 5 bucks.

American Blues are a heritage breed first developed in 1917. They immediately became very popular for their large size, gentle disposition and their medium length, dark, blue fur. They fell out of fashion in the 1950’s with the change in fashions and the inundation of imported breeds to the US. By 2005, there were thought to be less than 1000 American Blues left in the country and they were considered “critically endangered”.

There has since been a resurgence in the breed, as people recognized what is so special about them. They are larger, friendly, hardy rabbits who tend to have big litters combined with good mothering skills. All of our rabbits are handled daily by our family and we have really enjoyed them as a breed.
