As an expansion of the Richmond SPCA's pet-retention services, the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital will help pets stay with their families while enjoying a greater quality of life. In addition to caring for pets of income-qualified families, the Susan M.

Markel Veterinary Hospital will also provide treatment for pets belonging to area municipal shelters, pets adopted from the Richmond SPCA, pets of Richmond SPCA employees and pets referred to the hospital by other veterinarians.
