Meet Roxanne, our 17th Companions in Crisis grant recipient this year! This sweet girl was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor on her front right leg and is scheduled to have surgery to remove the mass at Patterson Veterinary Hospital.

We would like to take this time to introduce our new Veterinarian and Owner of Patterson Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Hannah Minch!
Dr. Hannah Minch (previously Mercurio) was born in Kilmarnock, VA but grew up in Wilmington, DE, and attended the University of Delaware for undergraduate studies.
She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. During veterinary school she published a research study on piglet behavior, was the recipient of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Grant for advancing animal welfare for her work with sea turtles, in addition to other projects and volunteer work in addition to her studies.
After graduation Dr. Minch completed a rigorous year-long emergency and general practice internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC. After that she accepted a position as a clinical instructor at the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine, teaching veterinary students in their clinical year of general practice and dentistry. After her time in Ohio, she went on to serve as medical director at 2 private practices on Long Island as well as practicing full time in small animal medicine and dentistry.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her children and her little rescue dog. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include behavior and dentistry, but she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine.
But don't fret! Dr. Bayer will still be here Wednesday through Friday for the time being. He is excited for the new change that will be taking place here at Patterson, while also being able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement time.

Friday, December 23rd, we will be open until 3pm. Daycare will be open until 6pm.
Dr. Bayer has had a family matter arise that requires his attention after Christmas. That being said, we are still closed Monday and Tuesday, December 26th and 27th.
Wednesday, December 28th, to Friday, December 30th, we will NOT be open for sick or wellness appointments. We will ONLY be open for medication refills, nail trims, a**l gland expressions, grooming, and daycare from 8am to 4pm. THERE WILL BE NO DOCTOR HERE, again we will not be available for sick or wellness appointments.

Having a bad day? Need a break from the hectic day to day? Come by our hospital and play with the kittens! We welcome anyone who wants to come sit in the room with them to play and snuggle! All the babies are still available for adoption and so is the sweet momma. Even if you aren’t able to adopt, still come play!
This poor lil momma has had it rough but we’re here to take care of her now. Her 5 kittens are all doing great and are starting to open their eyes! Momma is the sweetest most loving cat ever! Sticks is not at all happy that we gave him a bath today but with his allergies acting up, he’ll be grateful to be less itchy! Our groomer, Victoria, has several shampoos and treatments that can help relieve allergy symptoms dogs in conjunction with other treatments provided by our medical team. If you notice your dog or cat rubbing their face, chewing their paws, scratching with red/ irritated skin or any other symptoms this spring, call us to see where we can help give them some relief!
This lil beauty is Dolly! Her sister, Loretta, is in the background exploring. They are here boarding with us for a few days and keeping our team busy and laughing! Loretta even gives us kisses!
