from the news: The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the opening of the Clover Hill Dog Park at CTC @ Hull in a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 28. The park, located at 13900 Hull Street Road, is the third dog park in the county and includes a small dog run area, large dog run area, and a paved and gated release foyer. Water access is scheduled to be installed in the spring. In addition to the newly opened park, dog owners can also exercise their furry friends at Ruff House Dog Park at Rockwood Park and Chester Dog Park at Goyne Park, which added an agility course in 2020.

As a reminder. The Friends of Ruff House was disbanded due to lack of volunteers. There will not be a Howl-a-woof event this year. But there are many other events around town to enjoy with your pup.

The county has re-opened the park, but it is NOT being sanitized. This is not an endorsement to go, but is a notice of the its status. Please be considerate of the park’s community and observe social distancing practices if you do go to the park.

Little know fact: sometimes dogs float to the ceiling and get stuck there. It's a serious problem and we should really start to talk about it more to find a solution. Please don't hesitate to leave comments on best tips and tricks to get them down.

The water at the park has been turned off for the season. Please bring your own water. And please take your empty water bottles home with you or put them in the recycling dumpster when you leave. Hey and when you’re on your way to the dumpster pick up a few other bottles from the lazy people who left them. If everyone pitches in we can keep the park nice.

‼️FREE BASIC MEDICAL CARE FOR HOMELESS AND NEAR HOMELESS PETS‼️

Just in case anyone know a homeless person in need of VET assitance for their pets.

They might not have much but their doggos and cats are their entire world (I’ve seeing this myself) so please pass this to anyone that you knows anyone who can use this assitance.

Coyote Attack Killed a Dog
Warning.... Coyote Attack killed a dog This has been all over our neighborhood site, but it’s a good reminder for all. We live near courthouse and hull street and my neighbor’s 28 pound dog was killed by coyotes yesterday while in a fenced in backyard just using the bathroom. This happened at 2 pm in the afternoon. It can happen anywhere at anytime. The dog was outside with two other lab mixes and the coyotes still got him. He was only outside for 30 minutes. Animal control confirmed it was a coyote or maybe two based on the tracks. Coyotes live with us and they are hungry and dogs and cats are an easy target... they don’t just hunt at night. Keep your doggies safe and stay with them. We are all a little on edge here. If you are outside and encounter a coyote make yourself as big as possible and make as much noise as you can. They should run off but the don’t always. They have gotten used to people. Do not run and remove animals they could be hunting from site.
