Woof.

Yesterday was a busy day! We planned on taking in 4 pups, but ended up taking in 7 dogs from 3 different counties!! One pup is the last mate of a litter we took in a few weeks ago, three are owner surrenders and three were left alone when the previous owner was sent to the hospital. Thank you to our volunteers who transported and those who last minute fostered!

✨Fosters needed ✨ ….. TONIGHT! Temp or long term for these 3 month old fluffy cuties. They were left outside and are very under fed. They were seized by animal control today and we just couldn’t say no. Can you help?? Even just through the weekend would be super helpful. Please text Judith, McKenzie or Katy if interested or able. Danni (5 months) and Judy (8 months) are two female Schnauzer/Labrador Retriever mixes that are coming Sunday! The girls are parvo survivors and are making the trip from Mississippi to Richmond this weekend.

Bitty is crate trained, house broken, and dog friendly. Shes a bit scared of loud noises. Shes a 35 lb snuggle bug. No cats for Bitty!

Fosters needed starting Tuesday for these 3 month old German shepherd/border collie mixes! They are from an accidental litter that was brought into the shelter. We are hoping to spay mom and neuter dad, so this won’t happen again!

Calling all Doberman lovers…

Meet Jax! This big beautiful boy is a love bug and looking for his furever home. Jax is 8 months and just shy of 70 # so he’s going to be a big boy! He is crate trained, house trained, knows sit and we are working on more! Jax is very smart and treat motivated. Jax would do best in an active home with continuous training where he can gain the confidence to be his best self. He does well with children and all people!

Jax has been tossed around for most of his life. His first home bought him from a breeder, cropped his hears and docked his tail. Unfortunately they did not keep p with the upkeep required of ear cropping (splinting and cleaning) so his ears are super floppy now (which we think is 100% adorable).

His second home had 4 dogs, two large breeds and two small breed chihuahua’s. He was there for a few months before an altercation with the chihuahua which his owner was not willing to work through.

Jax will be working with a trainer to help him gain confidence and learn what to do with his big brain and even bigger puppy body! He hasn’t shown any aggression with cats or other dogs !

We have TWO opportunities to get your pups photographed by the BEST petographers in Virginia this weekend, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

First, come see and at from 12-4! All pets must be registered to play. For a $25 donation, you get a Valentine’s themed photo AND an entry into our Yeti Cooler Raffle! Extra entry tickets can be purchased for $10 to help us cover the cost of Georgia’s unexpected emergency c-section!

What goes better with Valentine's Day than a little chocolate..... LAB!

Georgia is a 6 year old chocolate lab who came to B&B last week after she was surrendered to a local shelter after being in labor FOR THREE DAYS. The ACO quickly rushed her to the vet for an emergency c-section hoping to save all 9 babies and mom.

With the quick actions of the ACO and a B&B volunteer who drove an hour and a half to the vets office to tube feed the newborns since mom and babies were still under anesthesia, mom and 6 of her beautiful babies survived. It is clear this is not her first litter, but this little group will definitely be her last 💕

We were not planning on having an emergency c section bill this month, but we had to help.
"Emergency" anything isn't cheap and this ran us almost $3,000. To help recoup the funds spent on this unexpected bill, we are doing a Valentine's Day Yeti Cooler Raffle!

Our Valentine's Day Raffle will run from February 1-14 and the winner will be picked on Valentine's Day!! Entry tickets will be $10 each and if you get a photo taken at one of our photo events this weekend, you will receive an automatic entry!

Items in the raffle include a Yeti Tundra 65 Hard red cooler, bandanas from , beverages from , a custom dog name tag from and more!!
