Welcome Dr. Lees!
If you have not had the chance to meet our new associate in person we hope you do soon!

Dr. Stephanie Lees is a local to Richmond. She attended Virginia Tech, where she received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. Upon graduation she stayed in Blacksburg for another four years to attend the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lees always seemed to connect with the animals around her quickly and always strived to be involved in their care at a young age, which encouraged her aspirations to become a veterinarian. After graduation she moved back to Richmond and spent a year in emergency medicine. Dr. Lees is excited for the move to primary care as she is passionate about client relationships and educating pet owners. Her medical interests include soft tissue surgery, reproductive emergencies, as well as endocrine and metabolic disorders such as Diabetes, Addison’s disease, and chronic kidney disease. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Lees enjoys spending time with her family and four dogs, traveling, working out, and plants.

🐾 Calling all pet parents! 🐾 It's time to show our fur babies some extra love and care by scheduling their routine surgeries. Spaying and neutering not only helps control the pet population but also promotes their health and happiness. Let's give them the gift of a longer, healthier life! 🐶😺

"🌵🎉 Happy Cinco de Mayo, pet parents! 🎉🌵

While you're enjoying the festivities, don't forget about your furry friends' safety! Here are some quick tips from our clinic:

🐾 Keep pets indoors: Loud noises from celebrations can frighten pets, so make sure they have a safe, quiet place indoors.

🌮 Mind the table scraps: Some festive foods like guacamole and spicy dishes can upset your pet's stomach. Stick to pet-friendly treats!

🚫 Avoid alcohol: Keep those margaritas out of reach! Alcohol can be toxic to pets.

🐶 Watch for decorations: Colorful decorations like streamers and piñatas might look fun, but they can be dangerous if ingested.

Let's celebrate responsibly and keep our furry amigos safe and sound! 🐾💚 "

In case you weren’t aware we are an AAHA accredited practice, which means we follow close to 900 standards to help provide our patients with the best care possible. Only 15% of veterinary hospitals undergo the rigorous accreditation process, setting themselves apart from other hospitals.
Every three years we get inspected to make sure we are following these standards and this week we passed our re-inspection! Thank you to our clients for trusting us with your patients care and an even bigger shout out to our staff for their continued dedication and hard work!!

We are booked more so than ever so make sure you are pre-booking appointments whenever possible. We do our best on a daily basis to see every possible patient but just like this ER we have our limitations.
If getting a puppy make the initial checkup before you even get the puppy so you know they can be checked out right away.
Forward book vaccine booster appointments after each visit to make sure they are kept on schedule.
Our groomers are booking 4-6 weeks out so make sure to call ahead with plenty of time.

A Richmond 24-hour emergency vet reported reaching capacity Tuesday night, saying that had become a weekly occurrence amid staffing shortages and an influx of sick and injured pets.
