Walk-Abouts offers dog walking and in-your-home pet sitting visits--so your dogs, cats and other animal babies can stay within the comfort of familiar surroundings. Amber provides a variety of services with attention to instruction, and she is proud to say that her #1 service is providing her clients with absolute peace of mind. Some of the many services Walk-Abouts provides include: dog walks; fresh water; feeding; medication administration (oral & injection); cleaning pet area; regular text updates with photos/videos; vacation services (as requested, and not limited to: mail/package collection, garbage/recycling to curb, plant care & home security check); and, of course, lots and lots of LOVE!!

Woof, woof, your attention, please!!: The Walk-Abouts pack is full! Because Walk-Abouts is a sole-proprietorship, I am unfortunately limited in the amount of clients I can take on. While I would love to fall in love with all of the world's furbabies, I have made the tough decision to cut back on clients and continue to turn down new clients for the remainder of 2022. This allows me to provide the best possible care to my current clients who have supported my business throughout the COVID crisis. If/when this changes, I will announce openings. Usually my job is pretty awesome, but last week sucked. In the same day, I received word that my Kitty friend, Gigi (not pictured), went to the rainbow bridge, and then that my good buddy, Sparky, lost his battle with cancer. No dog deserves this battle, but Sparky was too young and too sweet for this outcome. He was without a doubt one of the mildest mannered dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure to care for. He loved his walk-abouts and tolerated me calling him “Mr. Sparkles” and “Sparkle Pony”. Of course, my sadness is nothing compared to that of their families, and my thoughts are with them this week.

Sparkles, I’ll carry you in my heart for always, like you carried me in yours 💔🌈

Most of my doggy friends hate this holiday as much as I do, so here is my Kitty friend Miss Scarlett to wish you all a safe & happy 4th!! 😆🇺🇸🐾❤️

Another baby that snuck into the Walk-Abouts family during apocalyptic times and just hasn’t gotten an intro yet is my good buddy Tony (or as I call him, Tony! Toni! Tone!, and if you don’t get this reference we can’t be friends 😂). Tony has a spinal malformation that makes his back legs all goofy, but he doesn’t let this slow him down, and he still loves to take Miss Amber on long walks. Welcome Tony!! 🥳 (oh, and excuse the baby talk on the video, my voice automatically morphs into this tone when I see anything floofy, it is not under my control) ❤️🐾

Some days are just cat kinda days!! With the exception of one sweet pup this a.m., today has been a rare day of all cat visits. Here is the gorgeous Miss Koko thoroughly enjoying her cat massage 😍😍

One more of my friend Myra for the day. Today was a BIG day for us. Despite being friends for awhile and going walk-about weekly, Myra was still too nervous to play toys with me. Today, all of her nerves have finally melted away and we played ducky for the first time. My day was made!! 😊😍🐶❤️

I love Ray and Fergie's new harness system with double leash! Finally harnesses that stay on but don't choke, and less twisting and tangling than with their old leashes. I can't help but smile and laugh whenever I walk them--those little legs!! 😂😂😍😍

Mr. Kitty asked me to show the internet that he is just as talented as any dog. Here he is "fetching" his favorite treats, a daily routine that helps keep him fit and mentally engaged. Kathleen Farrell Lambright this is another feline whose shenanigans I know you miss! He says hello and that he misses you and DC as well 😘😻
