We don’t have the words to describe today. We had 3 pre-approved adopters meet and take home their new babies, 4 other applications in process. A handful of new fosters and volunteers, countless alumni came to visit. Some foster parents and pups reunited.

PUPDATE: Sweet Weston is feeling GREAT this morning with his quarantine foster.
He loves waking up in a home and not that hospital! Mirrors are a new favorite 😍
Today is our 1st anniversary. ONE YEAR.
We opened our hearts and homes up to pups (and cats! And pigs!) exactly 1 year ago today.
I’ve rewritten this post 4 times and can’t find the words to adequately describe the journey. The highs and lows, the amazing wins and the devastating losses. So I’m going to let our year one numbers do the talking and some of the faces we’ve saved express our gratitude. 💗💙💗
In year one:
✅ 224 animals came through our rescue!
✅ 175 successful adoptions!
✅ 14 adoption collaborations!
✅ 33 animals currently in foster!
✅ We worked with 27 different animal welfare organizations!
✅ We had 37 unique foster homes!
✅ We sponsored the medical care of 16 animals in need outside of our organization!
I’m incredibly grateful for every single one of you. Thank you for being a part of our story.
Our pups from the Festivus Crew are almost 4 weeks old and they have traded in their newborn whelping bed for a big puppy pen!
And…. they are loving their mush! 💗💙💗

Month 11 ⭐️
Today I am grateful.
Grateful for our fosters, volunteers, rescue partners, supporters, and cheerleaders.
Grateful for the resident dogs who tolerate their families saying “yes,” to just one more puppy… to the spouses and families we drive mad with our crazy doggy antics.
More than anything I am grateful for another successful month.

We don’t have an open foster at the moment, but we couldn’t say no. Look at this face. 😩
Our rescue partner in SWVA got him out before his 2:00 deadline - and we have transport bringing him to Richmond tomorrow.

We all know that animal welfare is in a state of emergency. But thanks to our amazing foster families, transport volunteers and rescue partners, these six pups are joining the Mae’s Mutts family tomorrow.
