26th Annual Fur Ball: A Cinderella Fund Story
The 26th Annual Fur Ball has been the most successful yet! We raised $824,000 thanks to all of our incredible donors and sponsors. This year's Cinderella Video, sponsored by the Virginia Sargeant Reynolds Foundation, pays tribute to the contributions of Dr. Angela Ivey, our director of veterinary medicine. For two decades she has carefully used every dollar you donate to the Cinderella Fund to deliver lifesaving veterinary care to more than 60,000 homeless animals who found hope and a new life at the Richmond SPCA.
If you want to make a difference in a pet's life, it's not too late. Today's the last day to help support our most vulnerable pets by entering into our Fur Ball raffle. A $5 raffle purchase can go a long way for homeless pets all while giving you the chance to win one of five amazing prizes. Visit our website to enter today!
We're excited to bring back Sketch-A-Pet from local artist Brie Hayden Art who is sharing her talent to draw a realistic, hand-drawn pencil portraits of your pet! Our first batch sold out quickly, so don't miss your chance to get your hands on one for yourself or a loved one. See the link in the comments to place your order.
Did you know you can donate flea and tick preventative to our Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital? Hear from our own Dr. Ent on the importance of preventative medications and why these types of donations are helpful to us. Visit the link in our bio if you're able to help provide our hospital with this crucial medication.

Our pets have the cutest quirks! What are some of the things that make your pet unique? 💙💚🐶😺💚💙
Sometimes it’s hard to not want to take all the pets home! A few of our team members got together to tell the world who they would adopt if they could. Several of our staff favorites have already found homes, but a few are still waiting for their perfect someone! Come meet these sweet pets and find out why we wish they could be ours! 💚💙

Guess what? Somebody matched their freak. All three of these cuties were adopted yesterday, but we have several more kittens waiting to find their match! For the entire month of July, you can adopt two cats or kittens for a single adoption fee. Stop by this #Caturday and let us find your purrfect pair!
Our kittens in foster care have asked us to alert the community that they are in need of more food! They are looking for small cans of wet food in a variety of flavors. Our tiniest warriors are the hungriest of them all. Can you help them grow big and strong? Visit our wish list to donate today. We'll add our wish lists to the comments for easy shipping.
Kitten season is in full swing across RVA, and we’re looking for caring fosters. When infant kittens are orphaned before they’re able to eat on their own, fosters are needed to step in to bottle feed them. Never bottle fed before? No problem! Our foster team provides all the supplies you need and train you to help the most vulnerable kittens grow big and strong. Visit the foster page of our website and register today!

These sweet pups all found loving homes with someone looking for something unique that was found in each and every one of them, but we have a lot more life-saving work to do and a lot more pets looking for their person! We're open and ready for you to meet your perfect match - whether that's a pet who snores loud or eats cheese, we have someone for everyone.

Tater Tot Gets Adopted
After 304 days in our care, we celebrated Tater Tot's graduation to a new home yesterday. Though he'd been in our care since August 2023, his adoption came only 9 days after his foster stay with the Riesters, who recorded Tater's love of their backyard, both for zoomies and rest. A short stay in foster care can be just the thing that a long-term shelter dog needs to reset.
Could you give one of our adult dogs a vacation? Register to be a foster volunteer this #FosterFriday or tag a friend who should get involved.
