The time has come to announce, with a very heavy heart, that Standing Stones Rattery is officially closed.

I have been in the hobby for over 7 years and made some incredible achievements (if I do say so myself) from helping others get over their fear of rats, to working with laboratories to eradicate SBM in breeding lines. I'm very proud and I have loved nearly every minute of it. But if there is any time to close this chapter of my life - it is now.

I want to thank all of my incredible adopters over the years for supporting my goals as a breeder, and I want to thank the many amazing breeders who mentored me in their own ways. I have made some amazing friends that I'll cherish forever.

All of my lines have been dispersed to other breeders in the state who I know will give them the justice they deserve, and keep them SBM negative. Please, continue to support reputable breeders who put quality animals into the community πŸ’š

I will continue to be part of the community and my inbox will remain open for my previous adopters or those with questions. This has been an incredible journey and saying goodbye to this hobby is not easy.

So happy to announce that our results are in and we have confirmed negatives from the pathogen free albinos!

With that, these bubs will be available to breeders and potentially pet homes. Breeders, please send us a PM! Pet homes, keep an eye out for future posts ☺️

More tests were sent out to Charles River Laboratory yesterday to confirm our rats negative status for the zoonotics agents Streptobacillus Moniliformis, LCMV, Hantavirus and Sendai! With negative results, I hope to have several babies available to breeders or possibly pet homes πŸ’š Until then, enjoy some smol squishy bleps

Litter #2 wasn't far behind! The first litter had 10 pups, 5 males and 5 females. This second litter had 8 pups, 4 males and 4 females. It still amazes me that with enough dedication, you can breed for uniform litters!

As I begin posting more on my page, I have gotten dozens of messages from lovely people looking to adopt!
While I am thrilled so many people have anticipated my re-opening, it will be many months until I expect to have pets available again.

With the purpose of the Coalition project being the preservation of genes, we have made some pairings with only those genes in mind rather than temperament. Thus, some lines may have taken steps backwards in that regard and need some work. I do not feel any of the negative testing rats I currently have are pet quality. Along with that, my primary focus as I start having litters again will be distributing to breeders, so that there are more of us breeding rats free of Streptobacillus Moniliformis (Rat Bite Fever).

Thank you all so much for your love and patience. It still feels like a dream sometimes to have my fuzzy potato gremlins back. I can't wait for the day I am able to share them with you again, but quality will always come first.

My responses may be sparse while I get back into the habit of checking the Rattery page, but my inbox is always open for questions and advice πŸ’š

*New home pending!*

Due to no fault of their own, three amazing Standing Stones girls are looking for their new forever home!

Morla, a Dumbo Himalayan female, has a special place in my heart and was a retired breeder, born 10/25/2019!

Cheese the black self Dumbo and Peep the black self are sisters born 10/17/2020.

They are currently in Fredericksburg, but their current adopter may be willing to travel. Can come with their cage and all accessories their current home has left. The cage is a ferret nation (is no longer wrapped in hardwire cloth due to their size)

Send me a PM if you're interested in these amazing girls! They will not be separated. An adoption application is required and will be sent to serious homes only.

And so it begins!!!

Not only will I be hosting some pathogen free albinos, but after recent negative tests in my Merle and Lux line I will hopefully be getting them back as well! I am not even close to being fully set up again, but even just seeing these cages again makes my heart jump. Words cannot express this simultaneous feeling of excitement and mourning.

HUGE shout out to Underworld Rodentry for housing and testing these lines, along with the others in the Coalition for the Preservation of Fancy Rat Genetics for all of their work and dedication.
