Looking to support pets and communities affected by the devastating fires in California? Pasadena Humane and Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation are working tirelessly to care for animals impacted by the crisis.

The photo below is of Roxy, one of the many animals who have arrived at Pasadena Humane seeking help. Roxy is actually a white dog, but she was completely coated in ash when she was found in the fire zones, trapped in a collapsed house with burns to her face and body. Despite her injuries, she’s now receiving the care she desperately needs.

⭐️ Stay Snuggly, My Friends ⭐️

Vinny doesn’t always pose for photos, but when he does, he’s the most interesting dog in the world.

This dapper, goofy gentleman is an expert in cuddles, a connoisseur of tug-of-war, and a certified best friend to kids of all ages. He loves lounging on the couch, riding shotgun, and gazing out windows like he’s pondering life’s great mysteries (or just watching squirrels).

While he’s not a fan of baths—expect dramatic protests—his charm and good manners win everyone over. And if his future home has a low bed, Vinny dreams of sharing it with you.

Vinny is currently undergoing some medical treatment, but will be available for adoption soon.

We need your help! Chewy, one of our foster cats, has gotten out of his foster home and we are urgently looking for him.

Chewy requires medication for seizures, making it critical that we locate him as soon as possible.

💧 Water Urgently Needed! 💧Our friends at Richmond SPCA are facing a water emergency due to a down pump in the city caused by today’s snow-related power outage. Water is critical for caring for the pets in their shelter—providing drinking water, cleaning kennels, and maintaining hygiene.

Water donations are essential to ensure the animals receive proper care during this time. If you’re able to help, please drop off water at their Humane Center, located at 2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA. For more information, check their post shared below.

Why are these trash cans lined up on our back dock? Why, it's in hope of getting your help!

🚰🚨

Many taps around the city are barely trickling, including at our humane center. Water is essential to our operation, from filling bowls to cleaning kennels, so we urgently need water!

The first priority is drinking water for the animals we shelter. Any donations of bottles or jugs of water can be brought to our humane center at 2519 Hermitage Road. We're also placing large trash cans on our back dock, which can be accessed from the driveway between our center and the Cooperage Apartments. If you can bring water to fill these containers, you'll make it possible to clean the kennels tomorrow morning.

❄️ Snow days are snow much fun! ❄️

Our play yards got a frosty makeover, and some of the RAL dogs couldn’t resist romping in the fluff! While it might be chilly, these pups didn’t mind getting a little snow in their fur.

🐾 J.B. showed off his fetching skills, chasing tennis balls since this wasn’t the best snow for snowballs.
🐾 Gravy (black and tan) and Confetti (white and brown) twirled and spun in their very own snow dance routine!

Ruby, the RAL Social Media Gal’s dog, has declared herself Official Snow Day Monitor. She’s not a fan of the cold and would much rather stay bundled up inside, keeping an eye on the situation from her cozy perch on the back of the couch.

🐾 Ruby will continue to monitor the snow and will post any updates to tomorrow's schedule on RAL's social channels. Be sure to check for updates before heading to our shelter or clinic tomorrow.

🚨 Weather Alert from Dover the Cat! 🚨

Hey humans, it’s me, Dover – reporting live from the coziest corner of the shelter (I don’t do cold). ❄️ Just popping in to let you know that RAL’s Loving Spay & Neuter Clinic will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 6 due to the winter weather. I suggest staying inside and doing what I do – nap and avoid responsibility.

👉 We did announce that the shelter will be reopening for adoptions on Tuesday, January 7, but keep your eyes on our social media for any weather related updates! If the snow gets too wild, I might have to step in as the official decision-maker again.

🐱 The cat’s out of the bag… we’re reopening for adoptions! 🐱

After a cozy holiday season, our foster pets are heading back to the shelter – and they’re bringing some new friends from our animal control partners with them!

Starting Tuesday, January 7th, we’ll be open for adoptions:

✨ Saturday & Sunday: 12 PM – 4 PM

At just 10 months old, Ivy is a ball of puppy energy who loves to run, play, and charm her way through life. She’s been having a blast in foster care with her dog buddy – they’ve even mastered the art of tug together. 🐶💪

We're filling the kennels back up to reopen next week! These cuties still need spay/neuter surgery and exams before they will be ready for new homes. Once they are ready we'll start displaying pets on our website again and will let you know when you can come meet them.

🐾 Yesterday, some of our amazing kennel team members and volunteers took a little road trip to Dinwiddie Animal Control! While RAL doesn’t currently have pets in the shelter, we thought—why not lend a hand and bring some enrichment to their pets?

Our team spent the day cleaning kennels and giving the animals there some extra playtime and attention. It was a great way to support our friends at Dinwiddie Animal Control, and we always appreciate opportunities to work alongside other shelters! 🌟
