Our Kara and Eden Project was created in 2023 thanks to an incredibly amazing donor who is a great friend and RACC volunteer. Thanks to this project, we were able to pay for 305 spay and neuter surgeries for owned cats and dogs in Richmond City!! 🎉 We also wanted to thank every clinic that participated in our K&E project this past year to make it happen. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store and hopefully we can double that number! Not counting the events coordinated by the awesome Jones Veterinary Care PLLC which we believe adds another 70 to the count, the surgery count for 2024 is 264! We like to say that each surgery prevents 50 unwanted dogs or cats (this number is conservative) so we prevented 13,200 unwanted puppies and kittens from being added to the homeless animal population. (16,700 with the Jones count!) Thank you to Dr Jones and team and to Richmond Animal League and to the awesome Richmond Animal Care and Control - especially Savannah -who have made this possible. If you are a Richmond City resident and cannot afford to get your animal fixed, please reach out. Help us make 2025 and beyond the year we do not have any unwanted litters in the City of Richmond VA.
