We only focus on surgery and dentistry, and work with your veterinarian for pre and post-care, which helps us keep our costs low without sacrificing quality or care. We offer over 40 procedures, ensuring that we can help you and your furry family members in your time of need. We have so many happy clients and patients that travel to our original Richmond, VA location that we decided to open a second location in Orlando, Florida!

Happy Monday! This morning, we came in to the hospital to the smell of rotten eggs. We’re open for business today, but currently, we have the fire department on site and are awaiting clearance to return inside. We are unable to answer phones and emails at this point in time. We appreciate your patience and understanding. All humans and patients are safe! Please stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for your continued support!

Meet Jax, the tiny yorkie who recently stole our hearts! 😍 This little guy visited our Virginia location for his dental procedure and we couldn't resist sharing his story on this special day dedicated to Yorkies everywhere.

During his visit, Jax had a few baby teeth extracted, and we're thrilled to report that he's recovering beautifully, thanks to the loving care of his owner. 🦷💕

Our staff had a serious case of cuteness overload with Jax around – just look at that face! 🐶✨

Hello furriends! Bonus, your Friday ambassador here!
I've got an important message for all my fellow feline and canine friends (and their humans too)! As the weather gets warmer, I want to remind everyone about the dangers of being left in hot cars. 🚗🔥

Did you know that even on a nice sunny day, the inside of a car can heat up to dangerous levels in just minutes? It's true! That's why it's super important for my human friends to never leave us pets alone in parked cars, even for a quick errand. Even on mildly warm days, the inside of a vehicle can quickly turn into an oven, putting your pet at risk of heatstroke and even death.

🐶🐱 Please remember:

🔥Never leave your pets unattended in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
🔥Brachycephalic pets like myself are more prone to difficulty breathing in the summer heat.

If you see an animal in distress in a vehicle, act quickly:
🌞 Note the car's make, model, and license plate.
🌞 Alert the authorities immediately or your local animal control for guidance.

And remember, if you ever see a pet in distress in a car, let someone know right away! It's better to be safe than sorry.

Frog underwent successful foreign body removal surgery, and we're thrilled to report that he's now on the mend and feeling amazing! 😺

Our Story

Our mission is to provide high quality surgical and dental care to your pet at affordable rates. We are able to achieve our mission by limiting the scope of our services to surgery and dental care only. We cut out office visit / consultation time and fees in order to put all of our efforts into treating your pet. We are a drop off, outpatient clinic. We cooperate with many great primary care veterinarians in all areas and will be happy to refer you for any follow up care, general health care, or medical needs.

Thank you kindly for using our services. We love the animals, and have enjoyed treating them from all over the United States (so far 39 of the 50 U.S. States!) and Canada. Please help us continue to help you and your pets by telling your family and friends about Helping Hands. Together, we will see that no pets go without the surgery or dental care they need due to prohibitively high costs.
