To all my friends that have lost their beloved Dobermanns this past year 💕🐾

Soon after Monet went to the Rainbow Bridge she sent me a message, she said that all the dogs were very happy at the bridge, green fields to run in, cool shade under huge trees, and streams of fresh water, and of course, each received his or her most favorite food in the world for every meal! There was only one problem, they needed more tennis balls, since the young again dogs were wearing them out, chasing them all day while playing with their friends old and new. Thankfully, each dog had a big, soft, fluffy bed of their very own to rest in after all that play.

Then Monet sent me another message, the dogs at the bridge thought Santa needed an Honor Guard on Christmas Eve. A vote was taken, and it was decided by a huge majority that Dobermans would get that job! The Dobermans talked it over among themselves, and made a very wise decision; they announced that each year that the Honor Guard would consist of those Dobermans who had gone to the bridge that year. So on Christmas Eve, anyone who had a Doberman go to the Rainbow Bridge this year will know where their beloved Doberman is on Christmas Eve, Protecting Santa on his rounds as he spreads love and peace and joy around the world. A very fitting job for a Doberman indeed!

Maverick is a beautiful 5 year old Giant Schnauzer. He was surrendered to the rescue after the family did not have time for him. He has been in the rescues care for 5 months. He was heartworm positive and has gone through months of treatment to clear of them. It was a very long and painful process for him and his activity was very restricted. Here is what we learned about him while in our care:

• He gets along with other dogs big or small. He is very curious to meet other dogs, and has never been aggressive towards them.

•He gets along with cats, although he will chase them to play. Luckily, our cats love to play with Maverick so this is not an issue.

•He is 100% housebroken and is not kennel while we are gone. We highly recommend he is confined to a dog friendly area while you’re gone. Maverick will go through the trash can and eat food off the counters if he is left unattended. He is a very good driven boy, and is always on the prowl for unsupervised snacks.

-He is a great with children. He has never shown aggression towards our kids. Their ages range from 2 years old to 10 years old. That being said, our kids respect boundaries. Please do not leave your children unattended with any animal at any time. Maverick is very patient and gentle with the kids, but he will sn**ch their snacks if they allow him to.

-He is a great on a leash. He loves going for walks. He is great with meeting new people. He usually stays in the yard without a leash, but will take off if he sees another person or dog , but all he wants to do is say “Hi” . He is very good with strangers.

- Maverick has been allowed to sleep in the bed. He is a very big boy, so we do recommend he have his own area to sleep.

All in all, he is a great companion. He is not protective as he loves everyone he meets. His current weight is 80 pounds. Maverick will need regular grooming and the cost will range from 130-180 dollars every 3 months. This is required for his care and upkeep!!!

He’s been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm treated, microchipped . He has everything. He will need to be groomed

We will not adopt him to first time giant owners. We prefer for him to go with someone very experienced with his breed and requirements. They are very loving animals, but can be stubborn and headstrong. He is a lifetime commitment and we will make sure his next home is his furever home.
