It’s a cold and rainy Saturday morning here at Richmond Animal Care and Control so we are spending a little extra time snuggling up with our furry friends and reminiscing on this past week while also thinking of goals for the new year🥹❤️ let’s see some pictures of you snuggled up with your furbaby and share a goal you have for the new year!😍

Baby Boxer (maybe) lovers UNITE! Meet Merry Chrysler! She has spent that last few weeks in a foster home and is ready to take on the real world. Merry LOVES people, other dogs and cats. She might just be the cutest wittle nugget ever 😍
Merry’s adoption fee is $150- she is UTD on age appropriate vaccines, spayed and microchipped. Please email [email protected] with your home info (if you rent or own, any other adults/kids/pets) and why you would be the best fam for Merry🎄🤶🏼

On this we celebrate our partnerships with other amazing life saving organizations. Extending our efforts to help with horse rescue has been such a joy for our team! Thank you Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue and Central Virginia Horse Rescue for trusting us to help. We look forward to another year of rescue with you both! ♥️🐴♥️

On Day 8 of our 12 Days of Collaboration series we are celebrating three organizations that pulled together to help 25 horses living on seven acres in Stafford County.

Animal control had deemed the horses to be in such poor condition that they needed immediate removal. One was so emaciated and sick that it had to be euthanized before their second chance could even begin.

Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue, Richmond Animal Care and Control, and Stacy Franklin operating on behalf of Central Virginia Horse Rescue stepped in and were able to take the remaining horses off the property.

We wish you THIS kind of joy today! 7 year itch and A-Wreath-A-Franklin are oozing with holiday happiness. ♥️ RACC is closed today (we are busy hosting play groups), and will resume regular hours tomorrow 12-6pm. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday!

Happy Christmas and Hanukkah Eve! Just a reminder Richmond Animal Care and Control is closed today and tomorrow. We are very busy making window seat space for Clarice who is hating her kennel. Someone come adopt her when we open on Thursday 12/26!

We have two more cuties that are ready for their forever home! Meet Happy Crimus (brown male- right) and Merry Chrysler (brown and white female- left). Both are 10 week old Hound mixes that are as sweet as can be❤️ They are spayed and neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines and microchipped and the adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in adopting please email [email protected] with your home info (if you rent or own, and have any other adults/pets/kids) and why you would be the best home in the world!😍

Who needs a PUPPY?!?!?

Slay 💁🏻‍♀️ Bells Ring is the sweetest and spunkiest 9 week old puppy looking for her forever home😍 We think she is a shepherd mix? She spent some time in a foster home and thought she was the boss of the other 80lb pitties in the home 🤭
Slay is spayed, microchipped and up to date in age appropriate vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $150!

We want to preface that puppies are NOT Christmas gifts and they are 15-20 year old commitments. We are looking for a dedicated home who is ready for a life long loving companion. We are THRILLED to share Pinecone was released from the hospital earlier today and is now in foster (hopefully to adopt), with one of the vet techs from VVC! 🎉🐾🎉Thank YOU for all the love and support and to the very special person who made this pinecone blanket for Pinecone. ♥️ We have the BEST TEAM! Thank you 1653564 times over. 🙏

Floats Your Boat is on Santa’s nice list and would love to find a home for the holiday 🎄 He wants to be the only dog in the home but he passed his cat test! Float is as calm as a sea cucumber and behaves great in public.
We are open 12-5pm today and 12-4pm tomorrow!
