❗️Broodmare Highlight❗️

Rumor Has It (1/2 Shire 1/2 Clydesdale) is our only mare that isn’t AQHA registered and chasing that reining/ranch riding show pen. Rumor is a gentle soul who has given us one beautiful c**t and is due this April with her second. We are anticipating her c**ts will be just as good minded as she is and make amazing ranch horses and family horses. Rumor trail rides and was the novice champion in the Pony Express Ranch Horse Series this fall!

!!!Broodmare Highlight!!!

GREYT TIMES ONLY

This pretty bay mare joined our broodmare band due to an injury early in her yearling year. Though she never got to get going under saddle, her pedigree speaks for itself. Greyt Whiz has produced some amazing ranch riders. Pines Nickermaker (dam) was the Missouri youth ranch riding champion. “Monica” is due in March with a Krogs Fiddle Cat baby. We can’t wait to see what kind of a momma this mare can be!

❗️Broodmare Highlight❗️

SPOOK KITTY was purchased as a late two year old with an OCD in her right stifle. We decided just to let her grow up a little, started her in the fall and haven’t had a day of lameness. “Boo” has been a solid, reliable horse around the ranch and in the local show pen. She has carried 4-Hers through the show pen, carried beginners through their first horseback ride, pushed cattle on the ranch and won checks in the open reining and ranch riding classes.
As a broodmare “Boo” has given us three fillies and one c**t. Her four year old filly, Nostalgia, is competing at high levels of the NRHA open and non-pro. Her two year old filly is in training here at K7. Her c**t is a yearling looking for his new home. And her weanling filly is growing strong. This mare produces amazing minds and talented athletes. With only one filly in the show pen, she is a producer of over $37,000. We continue to look for the best stallions to match her with and are excited about each c**t she gives us. Whether you are looking for one to send to the show pen or one to ride around the ranch with the family, her babies have the mind to fit what you are looking for.r

Breeding season is around the corner (many studs start collecting February 5)! To get your open girls on the books early, make sure your contracts are in order with your stallion stations and you have them under lights. We bring our mares in by December 1 and keep them under lights from 6am-10pm. If it is a sunny day they get turn out from 10am-4pm.

‼️Broodmare Highlight‼️

TINKERS WITH VOODOO is the first mare we have started and put through the NRHA show pen in our program. Whitney traded the first filly out of her breeding program for this little mare. She was a little thing with a stellar pedigree. Whitney rode her through her two year old year on the ranch; laying a solid foundation in and out of the arena. Vivian took her her three year old year and turned her into a show horse. She won checks every time she stepped in the show pen.
Before she hit her prime in the pen, “Itsy” was diagnosed with navicular. We decided to retire her to broodmare and lesson horse. She still gets used around the ranch, but her days of proving herself in the show pen are over. She has won buckles and lifetime NRHA earnings over $1,000.
She has two handsome c**ts by Tricked Out Spook starting their careers with Vivian and a weanling filly by Chic Dreamin. We are excited to watch them grow and excel in the show pen.

Trailer loading lessons give me a lot of time to think. A horse who is finally understanding his training, getting soft and willing, is faced with past trauma and the little, dark box brings back all of his problems. In the arena we can work toward a common goal of being quiet and responsive, moving body parts, being tuned in, but as soon as we go back to the trailer, he seems to forget it all. It is such a controversial space he cannot help but argue instead of trying.
So many of us do the same thing in our lives, in and out of the arena. Being able to take a step back and think about why we feel and think the way we do is one advantage we have to our horses. They cannot communicate their trauma. Some people choose to avoid their trauma by ignoring it, which in turn keeps them from being able to communicate the trauma. But as humans, having the ability to think and communicate, we have an opportunity to learn and share and grow. Whether it is a fear of your horse bucking if you get them to drop their head and collect and you just can’t let them have more rein; fear of loping, jumping, lead changes, etc; you can find the source of that fear/trauma and work past it. Or you can choose to stay outside your little dark box and wonder why anyone would ever dare to step in.

“How is life?” You ask. I want to look for the big things but only find “life is good. Same old same old. Nothing new or exciting.” But looking deeper… life is beautiful. Life is felt in your every breath. Life is the little moments that so many people aren’t watching for. Life is the sunset casting a new light on the same day. Life is the deep breath you take at the end of a solid run. Life is the heart beating a little extra as you swing a leg over a new c**t. Life is filling the water tubs while the horses munch on their fresh alfalfa. Life is watching my kiddo run laps in the arena. Life is playing in the hose that has sprung a leak. Life, no matter how small the moment, is beautiful because it is yours and you are in it. Feel the moments. Don’t let the minute details steal away your joy. Let your life thrive in those small moments. Feel God’s presence leaking into every breath, every heart beat.

Watching c**ts grow from babies to “big kids” is always fun. LIL BIT EXCITED aka “Punx” was born on groundhogs day 2022 and is already winning money in the show pen. When you buy a K7 born and raised c**t, you are taking home a piece of our story. Every horse’s match was thought out before they were conceived, prayed about before they were born, and had hours of our time put in ever since. This pretty silver Grulla c**t is still one of the prettiest we have produced.

Our 2024 fillies are stunning! The sorrel is by Xtra New Pal Voodoo and out of our producing mare Spook Kitty. The brown is by Chic Dreamin out of our NRHA money earning mare Tinkers With Voodoo. We are super excited about these girls and they are available to show homes. Pm if interested.

Officially introducing Vivian Kincaid. Anyone who has been around K7 knows that Vivian grew up on the back of a horse. Her passion was always for learning and making each horse she touched live up to their full potential. She was competing in c**t starting competitions at 12 and competing in every event she could at the local and 4-H state fair.
Vivian’s passion for reining horses was lit when she visited Whitney at Sam Smith reining horses as a 14 year old. As soon as she graduated high school, Vivian went to work for Sam in the summers and worked with Jeromy Lipps while she was in college.
Vivian has lived in Texas working alongside the best in the reining and cutting industry for the last five years.
Starting and sitting on some of the nicest reiners and cutters in the industry has only fueled her to push herself to do more.
In 2023 Vivian finished in the top 10 of the level one NRHA FUTURITY on her gelding Jonny B Goode.
She has worked alongside the best and decided to bring her business back to the family farm, K7 Ranch!
We are blessed to have Vivian home. As Whitney’s life is growing and changing with motherhood, Whitney is able to focus on babies of two and four legged varieties while Vivian takes over the horse training. The K7 Ranch is busier than ever and we couldn’t be more excited to see what this next chapter holds in store!
