Dr. Taylor is spending this weekend receiving Continuing Education with his colleagues! He will be unavailable for emergencies and phone calls. He will be back in the office on Monday Morning. We are excited for him to get a couple of days away, even if it is work related! The office will be open Saturday morning for previously called in refill pick-ups, and food purchases.

We will also be hosting our Kittens and Koffee event on Saturday Morning! So swing by, get a cup of coffee and a donut, while you meet our sweet adoptable cats!! 🐈 ☕️ 🍩

More pets are lost on July 4th than any other holiday. Dogs and cats HATE fireworks! ALWAYS secure your doors, and create a safe indoor-haven (small interior rooms work best). A TV or radio buffers the noise and flashes from fireworks, this also works well during thunderstorms.

One year, Doc treated a pet who jumped through a 2nd story window, on the July 4th. That lucky dog recovered nicely from his cuts and a broken pelvis.

Please, keep them safe! Calming medicines are available for your pets. Remember, by law, veterinarians must examine pets once a year to write and fill prescriptions. 859-623-7387

As part of our commitment to providing timely care, we request that any medication refills for the next week be put in as soon as possible. BE AWARE IT’S TOO HOT! WHEN A PET IS OVERLY HEATED, IMMEDIATELY START COOLING WITH COOL WATER, THEN CALL YOUR VETERINARIAN. The temps and humidity are LIFE THREATENING. HEATSTROKE will KILL many this week!

Use these Merciful ideas for outdoor pets (EVEN YOUR NEIGHBOR’S)!
Bring them INSIDE when possible (at least, in the garage) with a fan/water”.
FANS, fans, everywhere! Direct airflow towards pets tied up outside.
Fresh, COOL water. NO NEED to enter a fenced yard next door, SPRAY water from a hose. ASK forgiveness later.
For the BIRDS, place a large shallow bowl of cold water/ice under a tree.

Saturday June 1st, Dr. Taylor will be out of the office, and not available to take emergencies. Our lobby will be open during our normal business hours if you need to pick up food or pre-approved medication refills.

Mother’s Day Weekend is here! Dr. Taylor and Amelia will be spending Mother’s Day in Harlan with his Mom, and will be unavailable to take emergencies on Sunday. We are excited for Dr. Taylor to be able to spend this special day with his Mom.

We are still experiencing phone issues. Certain cell phones are not able to get through to us, and are going straight to our On Call phone, which has a prerecorded message stating that we are closed. If you call and receive that message, please leave us a voicemail and we will return your call. If you need an appointment or refill, please text us at 859-582-1832.
We have been working closely with our IT team to find a solution for this issue. We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this.
