Here is a little more information about CPR on pets:
CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
ABC's: Airway, Breathing, Circulation.
ROSC: Return of spontaneous circulation.
Survival Rate: 6% - 19%.
Anesthesia-related cardiac arrest: 14.8% more likely to be discharged from the hospital.
“When it comes to survival, animals that arrested due to anesthesia-related complications are 14.8 times more likely to be discharged than those that arrest due to other causes (Hoehne et al., Frontiers, 2019).
Another study showed that 47% of dogs and 42% of cats that arrested due to an anesthetic event, achieved ROSC and were discharged (Hofmeister et al., JAVMA 2009).
Thus, a patient coming in for an anesthetic event that arrests could have an almost 50% chance of being discharged, while a patient who is very critical and battling multiple disease processes may be closer to the 6% chance of surviving ROSC to discharge.
Our responsibility as veterinarians and veterinary nurses is to help the owner understand which end of the spectrum their animal is more likely to fall into and advocate for our patients. Being educated in performing effective CPR will also increase our outcome of success in these cases and enable us to help ours make informed decisions.”
We are here whenever you need us.
Maddie shares her personal story about what happened the moment the new CT machine was delivered to our hospital. After committing a full 40 hour work week of training and a lot of our staff volunteering their own pets for our test scans we were ready to roll it out for our clients! Maddie was even personally helped when she discovered her own pet had hip dysplasia and was able to start appropriate treatment right away💙 If you want know more about how CT can benefit your pet click the link below: https://www.advancedanimalcare.com/services/digital-radiology

72 hours. 113 emergencies. 24 employees. This is what we mean when we say we are always here when you need us. Most of these employees pulled 15+ hour shifts this past weekend because they refused to leave when patients needed them. 113 animals were given pain relief, treated for illness and ailments, had life-saving surgeries, received CT scans or were helped to cross the rainbow bridge. Vet med is not not easy emotionally, mentally or physically but our team has grit that is rare. They surpassed what we ever dreamed this clinic would provide for this community and we are so proud of them.
We love seeing our employees achieve amazing goals and Maddie had a few minutes to tell us what helped her on her path to being accepted to Auburn Vet School including working alongside our vet team who really showed her the ins and outs of being a veterinarian 🐾💙
Congrats Maddie! See you in 4 years 🦅🧡😉
We have been working for months to update our website and we are so excited to announce it has finally launched!!!🚀📲
We love that it features our three locations so much better than before!

We understand that there is a lot of sick going around not just for pets but for people too so last night from midnight to 3am we had a team of nearly 15 team members come in and deep clean our clinic from front to back!!👏🏼
Being 24/7 it is hard to find the time to get on our hands and knees and scrub the baseboards but last night our team did it with a smile on their face and we couldn’t be more proud!!
