This evenings sky is one of the reasons why orange has always been my inner spirit color, perhaps the daydreams of the sunrise/sunsets, or the magical glow in firepit embers, how leaves explode through such colorful pallets or simply my sweet furry friend Ernie. Tonight this filled me in a way I’ve needed. 🧡

Reaping the benefits of our hard work this morning. After an evening of rain, everything is popping! Even got a little sweet treat 🍓. Can only imagine when our tomatoes come in which of my 4-legged fur babies will take advantage?! Ha! 🐾❤️🫛

It’s been a long growing season already! We went with galvanized beds, of course a teal one for our girl Linley! 💙 Thank god for GG, my brother in law, who helped me create this potting bench! Now to filling our beds with what they need to grow epic foods! Two more beds to make for our trellis! Getting close! 🪴

Slowly making progress! Thank you god for neighbors who love tools as much as us, the rototiller saved me! Fencing up, now time to build the doors and garden beds!

You never want to have a reason to “Go gray in May” because it typically insinuates you have felt the impact of someone or self being impacted by a brain tumor. When you have, your lens on…well, absolutely everything changes and purpose becomes a new word, more of an action. So, this month I am challenging myself, my family and others to: 1. Act with purpose! 2. Complete random acts of kindness to absolute strangers. Linley was an absolute FORCE, at the youngest of ages she was thinking and doing for others, and when I say little - think of a 3 year little blonde running around collecting tennis balls to bring to a dog shelter! 3. Consider supporting www.loveforlinley.org or any other foundation that supports brain cancer awareness and support! I know I will be making a donation on Mother’s Day to honor my mom, Linley’s mom Cassie (who I also get to call my best friend since 2!) and the other fierce moms and women I know!

You never want to have a reason to have to post for this month, because it typically insinuates you’ve been impacted somehow in your lifetime.

When you are, your lens on…well, pretty much everything changes. This month I’m going gray for one of the biggest rays of light and love my world has ever seen, sweet Linley!

Although we lost Linley way too young, it doesn’t mean that her legacy of selflessness and love can’t go on within us all! Her spirit impacted those that knew here, and perfect strangers alike! She was a force!

In her honor, I challenge everyone this month to complete random acts of kindness. Linley radiated this, almost immediately in her young life. She was always watching and doing things for others around her, and at the youngest of ages! It’s the easiest thing we can do!

I also challenge you to support her foundation, LoveforLinley. Perhaps make a gift around Mother’s Day in honor of an amazing woman in your life?! Since the Foundation’s inception we have raised just under $100k!

8 years ago we built our first vegetable garden, and she was a wonderful one. So many lessons learned over the years. After a lot of wear and tear, it’s time for a facelift. Demo has begun! Think arbors, trellises, raised and ground beds, pathways and a door to the outdoor shower….the dream list grows longer and longer….more to come soon!

We finally finished our outdoor shower! After months of designing, building, tiling, remodeling, waiting for plumbers…having multiple flake out; then finally adding the finishing touches! New towels, a nice cold shower beer, a little music, not much better than this in our backyard! Now I’m patiently waiting for twilight where I can test out our tree chandelier! One more shot to come……

Wow, today was a gigantic push! Our plumber friend visited this morning, promised to be back mid-week, so hustle was on. It can be so overwhelming, tackling a new project. I have such respect for tradesman, such an art form. We framed until we ran out of wood, so sanding and staining in the forecast. My tiling is next, which I’ll tease out soon, definitely loosing some sleep over it, but I guess that’s the fun of it! Also, I’m in love with the fact that my entire family has had a part in this! ❤️☀️💦.
