We had a great Barn Christmas Party Potluck and White Elephant Gift Exchange yesterday. I didn't know we had so many thieves among us, lots of great gifts and laughs. My personal favorites were a bundle of bananas, hairy Christmas garden gnomes, the emotional support hot dogs, a pineapple lamp, and the LIVE Beta fish. Y'all definitely understood the assignment and knocked it out of the park. I appreciate everyone who brought food/drinks and enjoyed the games and festivities. It was great to have everyone mix and mingle even though the weather was a bit chilly. Happy holidays, everyone!!

Since I had plenty of people volunteering to come scribe for me in Hawai'i next year, does anyone want to come scribe in Washington in January? It's a required pre-requisite for Hawaii next year 😎

Was able to make it down to Vegas for the NRCHA Judge's Seminar. Thankful for all the help around the barn so I could attend this year. It was very educational and informative. I'm excited to implement some of the things I've learned in to my training program and be able to better coach my clients while we prepare for show season 2026!!

Broanie got the job! He really stepped up this week to give these colts some confidence in the starting process. He kept his composure, and helped them manage their emotions as well. There's just something about a good minded gelding 💛

Dress for the job you want! I used to have a horse that helped me start a number of colts over the years, he was a big, bay gelding. I'd use him to pony colts, rope colts in the round pen, be an anchor to dally on when the colts were pulling me around the round pen on the lunge line. One of the best employees I ever had. He taught those colts how to manage their emotions but also kept them from invading his space. He'd swish his tail and threaten to kick if they were too far behind him, and he'd pin his ears and show his teeth if they were too far ahead. He taught them manners better than I ever could, all while I was over the top of both of them, which made the process of crawling on their back for the first ride a lot easier, too. That big gelding has moved on so now it's Broanie's turn to earn his keep. You got some big shoes to fill, lil buddy, but I have no doubt you can!

JTA DUNIT INA FLASH

This easy going 2 year old gelding just completed 90 days of training and is now being offered for sale. Zeus is quiet, level headed, smart, and athletic. He has a great foundation and is ready to go in any direction. Currently stands 14.2 hands, will mature to about 15. Special consideration to a show home, would love to keep this one in my program if possible!

I had the amazing opportunity to go judge a ranch versatility show in Hawaii over the weekend. I met some pretty incredible people, saw some really good horses, and soaked up as much sun as I could. Thanks, Chris and Susan Johnson for your hospitality, and Cassie Comella HorseTraining for putting us in contact.
I spend a lot of time leading horses, but it's amazing where they lead me 😊🤙🏻
