We are full but how can you say no to these young babies just starting out in life. They have not been treated very well so far so we did take them in to help them get healthy and ready for homes. It will take a while and many meals, etc. to get the weight on them. Hard to believe they are from the same litter. 1 is triple the size of the smallest. Skin is very itchy and bare and who knows what else may be going on. Gotta get weight on first to see what we are facing. Sad to see this. People, please spay and neuter your pets!!!

We will be open today at 10am. We are still unraveling from Debby and because we will be 116 degrees today we are closing at 1pm. Come early and please be patient with us while we are still cleaning up. Watch your travel plans there are a number of roads closed from flooding. Be safe.

Lots of phone calls about stray dogs. We are not animal control. With the storms and all the dogs probably have a home and are lost. Try to find the owners so they don't get hurt. We will take back our dogs that have been adopted out and will help where we can but we cannot just go out to pick up dogs from your yard.

Turns out this baby and her littermates will be with us for a while so keep watching for updates on when they will be available for adoption. We will be open Saturday at 10am. We are still here with Debby. She left behind 8" to 10" of water and knocked down lots of branches here. Everyone is ok at the farm so far. Another 10"+ of rain today. Keep watching our facebook for updates for Saturday adoption day. I think we will close because we will have a lot of clean up. Thanks for all the messages we are ok for now. Long night last night and will probably have another one tonight. Stay safe everyone.

Time for a feel good story while we all are binge watching TV watching it pour.
This little brown dog that we all in the community have been trying to get to safety for over a year now is finally safe. With the approaching storm she followed a neighbor home and has not left. They brought her up to Lovable Paws to scan for a chip and it is a dog that we adopted out 3 years ago to someone local. We have reached out to them but no response and frankly if you are local and left her out there for over a year then you clearly meant to leave her behind. We are not sure if they returned her to the rescue and just tied her up out front and she got away or what!!! However, we have gone ahead and updated her shots etc. and let someone take her in to see if she will be a fit for the family. We have hopes that it will work out but she will always have a place to go if it does not. We will take back any of our dogs but please let us know don't just tie them up thinking we will get them. Thank you everyone. I knew there was a reason I was drawn to this dog. Obviously does not look the same from when we had her and she is very much looking healthy.

We will not be on social media much posting about our dogs looking for homes we will be busy with the 20+ inches of rain we will be getting. Please know that we have a lot to pick from and if you are interested please apply to adopt. We are not sure what the week will bring us so keep watch on Facebook for Saturday. At this point we will be open but that could change. We will try to accommodate everyone once this mess passes. As far as the 40 dog adoption challenge we will come up with one later in the week. So, we had 2 adoptions this week. Happy tails go to Mollie and Licorice. So we are 2 down for our August challenge however, we did take in 3 dogs this week as well. So.....Let's try to get as many dogs into forever homes as we can and we will push to hit 40. The hurricanes are starting to come in and we will stay with the kids through the storm but I'm sure they would love the comforts of a home instead. Thanks for adopting and welcome to the LPR family.
