These are our last 4 available Nigerian Dwarf goat kids out of 24 born so far! There are 3 boys that are a few weeks old & are well started on the bottle. The last little guy is only a few days old. These guys will be banded and will make the perfect, silly, pet wethers! Please keep in mind that goats do not do well alone, so all of our goats have to leave in pairs or you have to have at least one other goat of similar age. Message us for any other questions!

I apologize for not posting our ADGA Nigerian Dwarf kids last night as planned! In keeping with this weeks theme, yesterday went crazy! Lol!

Here are the babies from our first round of kidding, finally 😍 All kids will be disbudded, tattooed, vaccinated, dewormed & started on coccidia prevention. All doe kids will also leave with their ADGA paperwork. All buck kids will be leaving as pet wethers with no papers. If you have any questions, please send a message.

Keep an eye on this page this evening if you want to see some adorable Nigerian Dwarf kids! I will be posting pictures of all of the kids that have been born here over the last week. We have had a small break before this next round of deliveries starts in a few days. So, I figured before all of the chaos begins again, I’d share all of the sweet babies that have been born so far with everyone later today 🐐❀️

I think Ridgely Acres Elsa is just about over kidding season already πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

It’s been super quiet & not very busy around the farm for a few months, which has actually been really nice for a change! Lol! So, I figured while we are waiting for our fall kidding season to start with our ADGA Nigerian Dwarf goats, I would share these guys that are looking for their forever couches!

They are mini schnauzers that were bred by a great friend of mine, who also happens to be a veterinarian! All pups will have full AKC registration, first shots, f***l test, first heartworm prevention, microchip, a goodie bag to go home, limited health guarantee & lifetime support from her. If interested in this litter, or a future one, please like her page & reach out!

Ok! Here are the available ADGA Nigerian Dwarf goats from our 2023 Kidding Season here at Ridgely Acres! Again, we have had quite the buck year here, so there are only 2 doelings available & 5 bucklings available that have not been reserved yet. The bucklings can go as bucks or as wethers.

Kids can leave as bottle babies at 2 weeks of age or they can leave when weaned at 8-10 weeks of age. All of our kids leave here vaccinated, started on coccidia prevention, dewormed with multiple classes of dewormer & with lifetime breeder support. Doe & intact buck kids will come with their ADGA registration paperwork. Pedigree info available upon request- most of these kids were sired by *B bucks.

Deposits are accepted on a first come/first served basis. Excellent farm, veterinary & personal references available as well as the option for video chats (just in case you are worried about the lovely scammers that are out there & need reassurance that I am, indeed, not one lol!). If interested, please do not hesitate to message me with any further questions.

We have *almost* finished our kidding season here at Ridgely Acres! We had 9 out of 10 of our does deliver within the last 6 days! So far, we have had 18 kids born. It has definitely been a buck year here with our totals so far at 11 bucks & 7 does. We happen to know that we are retaining from our last doe to go because this is her last year before retiring & living out her days as a pasture pet. So, we know who our available kids are going to be at this point πŸ’œ

Please keep an eye on this page this evening if you are looking for some amazingly adorable ADGA Nigerian Dwarf kids πŸ’™πŸπŸ’™ Individual availability posts up next!

Enjoy some random pictures below from around the barn during our favorite (yet most exhausting) time of year ❀️

02/17/2023

Yesterday must have been a good day to have baby goats if you were a Nigerian Dwarf at Ridgely Acres because we delivered 3 sets of twins in a 12 hour period yesterday! 6 more adorable little goats to spoil ❀️ All were nice, normal, uncomplicated deliveries this time around too! What more could you ask for?!

I had to go have a biopsy done yesterday morning & when I went to check the goats before I left I had one in early stages of labor. I had already checked an hour & a half before with zero labor signs from anyone πŸ™„. I knew they were getting closer, but figured it would be later in the day/evening at the earliest before anyone went after my morning check. Well, one crazy, totally freaking out phone call to my best friend (I had to leave in 15 minutes & I couldn’t cancel the doctor appointment or my surgery would have to be rescheduled) and she was there in under 10 minutes! She not only delivered that mommas twins, but another one decided it was a good idea to go into labor at just about the same time! She wound up helping those mommas deliver 4 healthy Nigerian Dwarf kids within a matter of like 8 minutes!

Needless to say, I think Abby has officially been broken in for being a goat midwife & probably questions herself daily why she chose to be my best friend πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

02/14/2023

Kidding season started off as a total disaster & I really hope that this is not a sign of things to come πŸ™„ Especially since this was the first delivery out of 10 to deliver over the next 2 weeks.

First mom to go was our girl Tinkerbelle, who has never had complications. Well, she had a healthy doe kid, followed by a barely hanging on tiny buck kid, then a giant DOA doe kid. She continued to push & something was obviously wrong. I knew I was going to have to go in to assist her. Good thing that I did because there was an even larger DOA buck kid stuck, like super stuck, backwards 😳. I was able to get him out & momma is doing great thank god πŸ™πŸ»

Fast forward 12 hours to the teeny tiny buck kid who barely had a heartbeat- the girls & I got him warmed up, he has had colostrum & won’t stop yelling at me to feed him 🐐🍼

***ALL PIGLETS HAVE BEEN RESERVED AT THIS TIME***

As bittersweet as it is, we have decided to retire our remaining mini pig mommas & no longer breed. It is whats right for our farm & family at this time ❀

So, with that being said, these are our last 3 available mini pigs from our final litters. These 3 babies are the only ones that do not have deposits placed & we will not be continuing a wait list for our piggies at this point. Please see details below for these sweet babes 🐷❀🐷❀🐷

*PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BELOW- It is super long, but there is a lot of important info to consider before making the decision to add a piggy to your family & most of your questions will be answered*

All piglets from Ridgely Acres will leave here with an iron injection, vaccinated, dewormed with 2 different classes of dewormers, started on coccidia prevention, started on litter box training & are handled daily. We also send home their first dewormer that they will need after leaving us, a harness/leash & food for transitioning. Male piglets can be neutered by my wonderful vet before leaving, that is the buyers choice.

Piglets are three hundred each (I require a non-refundable deposit to reserve your piglet until they are weaned and ready to leave at 8 weeks of age). I do NOT hold without a deposit for ANY amount of time- NO EXCEPTIONS).

Mini Pigs make absolutely fabulous pets, but they are definitely not for everyone, so please do your research & take the time to consider the following before deciding to add a piggy to your family:

1) Check your housing/city/town zoning to make sure pigs are allowed

2) These are Mini Pigs- there is no such thing as a teacup, nano, micro, etc. pig. If you are worried about having a pig that fits the "teacup myth" then a pig is definitely not for you. A healthy, well fed mini pig is the goal- not a pig who has been half starved to achieve the "myth." Those terms are incredibly misleading & should not be used by any ethical, responsible breeder. A mini pig is a mini compared to a full sized farm pig (Under 300 lbs). As you can imagine, this makes mini pig sizes vary. The parent pigs are the best way to get a general idea of how big your piglet will be at maturity. My pigs in particular mature to roughly the size of a medium dog (i.e. basset hound, English bulldog). We have multiple generations of the pigs used in our program on our farm for you to see.

3) Make sure that you have a Veterinarian that sees pigs- not all large animal/farm vets see pigs!

4) If you have someone you need to check with to make sure it is ok to add a piggy to your home (I.e.- spouse, significant other, room mate, landlord, relative, etc.) Please do so BEFORE contacting the farm

5) Pigs take a lot of training & patience. Making a commitment to a pig is a lot like committing to a lifelong toddler

6) Research, research & research some more! An educated owner is key to a successful, forever home.

If interested, please send a message because I do not keep up with comments on the posts.

*UPDATE- SOLD*

Last 2 ADGA Nigerian Dwarf does that are looking for new pastures! Due to some life changes, we need to downsize a bit before kidding season 2023 kicks off around here!

These last 2 does that I will be letting go are proven & have always had uncomplicated deliveries. Great brood does, not overly friendly/in your pocket pets. They have each been exposed to a buck for late february/march 2023 kids. Both does have moonspots. Both does were exposed to blue eyed bucks, one of those bucks is a *B buck. Im offering them as "exposed" vs. "pregnant" due to the fact that I simply have not had the time to pull & send out blood to confirm pregnancy. Herd is clean tested for CAE, CL & Johnes. Does are up to date on dewormings, their copper bolus & their CD&T vaccine. Please see below for pedigree info for does & the bucks that they were bred to. Located in Ridgely, Maryland 21660. Serious inquiries only, no holding without deposits. Please pm for further details.

***UPDATE: FOUND HIS HOME***

This little guy has had the worst luck with finding his forever home! I went against my better judgement and did not ask for a deposit not once, but twice. I have had 3 different people scheduled to pick him up & never came πŸ’” So, with that being said, I am offering a discount on this sweet guy in hopes of getting him into his new home asap! He will be the last piglet that we have available for a few months. Please message for details & only if you are 100% serious! These two sweet mini piglets were supposed to leave for their new home this past weekend, however their new owners decided that it was not the right time for them to take on any new pets. So, if you were interested in either of these two adorable babies, they are now available & looking for their forever homes. There is one girl chipmunk & one black boy. Both of them have 1 blue eye and some white markings ❀🐷🐷❀ I will copy & paste their litter details below!

*PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD BELOW- It is super long, but there is a lot of important info to consider before making the decision to add a piggy to your family & most of your questions will be answered*

These piglets will be ready to leave August 26th! They are from our homebred girl, Panda, & our blue eyed boar that we had shipped here from Texas a while ago now! *UPDATE- SOLD*

We have two adorable, spunky, purebred Nigerian Dwarf wethers that are 10 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes! They have been raised on the bottle. So, they are overly friendly, have no idea what personal space is & are extra hilarious πŸ˜‚ If that is what you are looking for, Lightning & Tornado are your guys! I want them to go together, so they are a package deal. Lightning is polled & Tornado was disbudded, so no horns. Tornado is the light cream with a few chocolate moonspots & wattles. Ridgely Acres has welcomed a litter of 8 mini pigs to the farm! The parents of these mini pigs are Waylon, our chipmunk, blue eyed boar from Texas & our silver & white girl, Twinkles. We also have the paternal granddam on farm, so two generations here so far! All piglets will get an iron injection, vaccinated, dewormed with 2 different classes of dewormers, started on coccidia prevention, started on litter box training & are handled daily. We also send home their first dewormer that they will need after leaving us, a harness & food for transitioning. They will be weaned and ready to leave Wednesday July 20th (I will NOT wean early- it is not in the best interest of the piglet).

Piglets are three hundred each (I require a non-refundable deposit to reserve your piglet. I do NOT hold without a deposit for ANY amount of time- NO EXCEPTIONS).

I am not super good about keeping up with this page because, honestly, farm life doesn't really leave time for a lot of sitting down on social media πŸ˜† So, I have a huge, adorable update for all of the Bloodhound people that follow our farm page!

On April 26th we welcomed a litter of 10 wonderful, wrinkly bloodhound puppies! Puppies will be ready to leave at 8 weeks old on 6/21/2022. There are 5 girls & 5 boys. There are 5 liver & tans and 5 liver reds. They will leave here vet checked (with proof of a negative f***l test), microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed multiple times with 3 different classes of dewormers & socialized. They will also take home their puppy health record folders that includes lots of helpful information & their AKC registration paperwork, a collar & leash set & a bag of the puppy food that they will be on to help with them with the transition.

The sire for this litter is our liver & tan male, Jasper. We had him shipped here to Maryland as a puppy from North Carolina. He has some really nice champion, imported lines behind him! The Dam is our homebred liver red girl, Daisy, who has some very nice lines behind her as well! They are both loaded with wrinkles, have huge ears & have great temperaments.

Puppies and parents are raised around everything from kids & farm visitors to livestock big & small from the very beginning, which makes for some really well socialized, confident puppies!

All of the details on this current litter can be found on our website at www.ridgelyacres.com. If you have any further questions after visiting the website, please e-mail, call or text me! Also, I am well aware of the amount of online scammers, so if you would like to do a live video chat to see the puppies before reserving one, I am more than willing to do that. I have great personal, farm, previous buyer & veterinary references available upon request as well.
