TB Jumping mare
Here's a video of part of our ride the other day. This is a tall drink of water, a mare used to jump that just needed some boundaries reinforced.
She likes to tip her nose and shoulder into the rail or wherever it is she wants to go. By using leg that's easily corrected.
She will start out dropping her nose into the bridle like she should but needs work on staying at a steady pace and keeping her head and body where they should be. Her canter is quick and I've been working on transitions and half halts with her to slow it down and make it more balanced and correct. Over all i really like how this mare rides and I'm happy to have the opportunity to work with her through these things while she's here. She goes back to Georgia in a couple days and there will be an opening for a training or just boarding horse. Reach out if there's anything we can help you and your horse with today ๐ค
Bully decided to tag along for our ride around the farm. And the boys took off!
Riding through the herd
Tank rode great through the free herd ๐
Rip
Rip was great until the end of the ride when he wanted to hurry back to the barn
Marsh Tacky colt getting ready to grow up ๐งก
Marsh Tacky colt first time with a bit, he's still figuring it out
Sutton trail riding
Suttons first ride here with not ONE scoot or spook or silly moments. A doe even jumped out right in front of us and all he did was stop. What we're doing is working! Great job lil man ๐ฉต
Here's a video of Pheonix who, when he came here, was traumatized to the point of rearing, striking, pulling back and doing all sorts of crazy dangerous things when someone tried to administer oral or IV/IM medications. He had been jabbed one too many times and just had a bad time with it.
If he even thought you were flipping his mane to the other side for a shot, he'd lose his marbles.
This is where he's at with it all today. You can see his eye soften and his body language show he's relaxing.
Giving medication or dewormers doesn't have to be a big deal. We just have to know how to help our 1000 pound puppies understand that we aren't out to hurt them. Train them to take meds instead of sneak attacks and quick stabs. It takes longer, yes. But I promise it's soooo worth it for you and your pony.
