We said goodbye to Tor today. When he arrived he was obese and his feet were in bad shape. He hadn’t been ridden in 3 years. In just under 6 months he lost weight, got some good shoes on, his feet are improving and he was reintroduced to riding. During his exams we discovered he has arthritis so he wouldn’t be the trail horse I was hoping for. After some searching he found the perfect home in Michigan at a therapeutic riding facility that works with handicapped and severely autistic kids and adults. This will be perfect for him, he will be more of a companion horse and will be loved on. It’s sad to see this big boy leave but I’m glad we got him out of his past situation and got him in some better shape. We will miss you Tor! 💙

My birthday project was staining my barn black. I was a bit nervous to do it but I love it! Next is adding some white contrast in the doors and some copper lights above the stalls. Thank you to my husband for his help and dealing with my little barn obsession.

March 27. Tor was obese, stiff in his joints and in pain. He could barely trot. Today May 9th Tor has lost some weight, has new shoes and is on some joint supplements. He is a new horse already! I really love this big guy!

Took Gustav out on a nice little ride today. He always take good care of me. 💙

We’ve had Tor just over a month! He’s lost some weight, got his new shoes and on an anti inflammatory and joint supplement and today he was acting like a new horse! He loves to move and it’s so amazing to see him not in pain. I don’t push him and let him tell me when he’s had enough at this point. It’s crazy that he could barely trot a couple weeks ago! Here is Gustav and Tor having some play time this morning.
