Our facility is not open to the public. is a Non-Profit organization that works very closely with southern rescue groups to provide needed homes for dogs in the Southern United States. Through our program we also work to help them gain needed resources and funding that is strongly lacking in the south. It is our goal to not only provide loving homes for these dogs but to also help better shelters

and shelter life in the South. We work specifically with rescue groups in Louisiana and Mississippi which is where our dogs are currently located. All of our dogs are adopted on a pre-adoption basis and then transported to NJ after the adoption process is complete. Upon arrival they go into a 24-48 hour monitoring period, where we make sure that they have made it through transport safe, happy, and healthy. After that time period, these dogs go into their forever home. It is a long journey but it is well worth the trip. There is an adoption fee on our dogs. This fee is a reimbursement for all of the services that we have provided to the dog being adopted. We put all of our dogs through a very stringent vetting process, deworm them multiple times, run f***l exams, spay & neuter, vaccinate and have them checked multiple times by the vet. Before they are transported, each of our dogs must receive a health certificate clearing them for travel. This fee also helps us cover the cost of transport and any other medical attention the dog may require upon arrival. There is a $500 adoption fee. Please note that for all adoptions taking place after April 1, 2022 our adoption fee has increased $50 to be a total of $500. This is to help up cover all costs for the pups such as vetting, medicine, gas and other typical costs. With these having gone up over the last year, we need to increase the adoption fee to continue the work we do and help as many dogs as possible. This will mean our non-refundable deposit following the phone interview will be a total of $100 with the additional $400 due on adoption day. Because almost all of our dogs are pre-adopted there is no meet and greet process with our dogs. If you must meet the dog before you adopt then that is totally understandable, however we may not be the best program for you. We do have a back up program just in case a dog doesn't do well in his new home. In that case the pup goes back into foster care and will be put up for adoption again in the state of NJ. We have been talking about the future a lot, here at Southern Paws Inc. We hope that within the next year or so we will be able to branch out and work with other Southern states in need, such as Georgia and South Carolina. Our hope for the future is to continue to save lives and do the rewarding work that we do.

Our perfect older mama Miss Nala 💜. Brought up on transport from the hurricane Francine by another “rescue” the beginning of September, only to find out the other rescue was not on fact coming for this sweet girl… So we took her in with open arms. This sweet girl just finished her heartworm treatment and is officially looking for her forever home!!

Miss Nala is a smaller sized girl about 6 years old, house broken, crate trained, crowned with the softest radar ears, while being dubbed the best co-chef, couch potato, snuggle buddy, and adventure lover all wrapped up into one! If you’re looking for an easy going older girl who wants nothing more than a pillow on a couch and some love, she is the one for you.

Interested in our babies? All fur babies are currently available through our pre-adoption program. This means that the adoption process takes place before they arrive in the state on NJ. We do not have a meet and greet process. After they arrive we will keep them a couple of days. You will then come meet him/her and take your new fur baby home with you that day. Our adoption process entails an application, vet and landlord checks, an interview, virtual home check and personal reference check. DONATE A CAMPER TODAY!!!

There is no rest for the weary. SP is still involved in helping make a difference from a distance and we need your help! This has and is going to be a long road! We are still working with some amazing organizations to get help for families in need who have lost everything in the storm.

Our current mission has been to help get campers and RVs to families who have been displaced and have been living in tents. It is getting cold and hypothermia is a real concern. We have been working to find donors as well as people who can haul them down to Western North Carolina and Tennessee.

If you have a camper in good condition you would like to donate to a family who has been displaced please pm us with your name and contact information. We would love to speak with you!

Photo below is a family who our team members delivered a camper to yesterday! They lost everything in the storm and we're so grateful to have a warm place to rest their heads at night while they rebuild.

Meet our longest current foster residents who are excited to find their forever homes!

Peanut: This little chihuahua mix is about 2-3 years old, and loves to be with her person. Her scruffy little face loves to snuggle and is patiently waiting for her forever person to scoop her up!

Harry Spotter: This 5-6 month old magical aussie mix boy is super smart and loving, loves to learn, is house broken, crate trained, and knows his basic commands! Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy or someone to get you up and out for an adventure, Harry is the one for you!

Mickey: The smartest and spunkiest 3-4 month old shepherd mix you ever did meet! The perfect combination of loving and playful, she loves to explore as much as she loves to hang out in the sun.

Turtle: This 7-8 month old mystery mix of a fluffy girl is waiting for the perfect person to continue to pull her out of her shell. Sweet and smart as can be, once she warms up she loves to play! *Would do best with a fenced in yard and children 10+ in a home*
