IS YOUR PET’S MICROCHIP PROPERLY REGISTERED?

Usually, when a microchip is registered, it is a lifetime registration with all the basic info...animal species, breed, gender, owner name, address and phone.

What can be renewed yearly for about $20 is the extra bells & whistles offered by the microchip company.

Sadly not everyone registers their microchip with the microchip company and their info is never recorded and associated with the microchip. This is YOUR responsibility as the pet’s owner of guardian. Even if the shelter or rescue group or seller says they registered the chip, you need to confirm.

Owners often assume that their microchip is registered and never contact the microchip company to verify the information on file. You should do this at least once a year, AND anytime your name, address, phone or email changes. You should also ensure there is an alternate contact or emergency contact listed in case you are not able to be reached.

You can verify that your microchip is registered by contacting the microchip manufacturer. There are about 5-6 major brands and many more less known brands. The major brands are the easiest to track as long as the owner info has been kept up to date (including address, phone and email).

The Fuzzy Friends Petsitting team has provided professional pet sitting and dog walking services to Rio Rancho, Westside Albuquerque, Corrales, and Placitas since 2012.

To qualify for this position, you must live in ***Placitas or Bernalillo***.

This is a part-time job appropriate for supplemental income. Work hours are highly variable from week to week, so you must be able to adapt to an ever-changing schedule, route, and pets.

Seeking Individuals Who:

* Have a passion for working with pets of all kinds and families

* Are dependable, honest, and have great communication skills

*Can demonstrate an ability to fulfill our impeccable standard of care and professionalism

*Can be flexible in regards to scheduling. Schedules are subject to change due to last-minute requests.

Requirements for the position:

* You have a reliable car, valid driver's license & clean driving record.

* Age 18+

*You have a reliable smartphone with internet access & willing to learn required pet sitting, time tracking & mapping apps.

* You live in the zip codes 87043 or 87004

*You can commit to working with us until at least October 1, 2022. The pets & parents want to develop a long-term relationship with you.

*You love both dogs and cats.

*You are available for both morning, evening & weekend schedules. Mornings start at 7:30 am, evenings can end at 9:45 pm. Flexibility in scheduling is critical.

*You can pass a criminal/background check.

Responsibilities:

Caring for animals includes this and more:

Dogs: multiple visits to Owner's home. Daily walks (min 1 mile), feeding, playing, p**p scooping when the visit ends. Little dogs, big dogs, puppies & seniors, sometimes a lot of dogs at one time! Dog walkers need to be able to manage large and strong dogs on a leash.

Cats: One trip or Two trips to Owner's Home: feeding, brushing, cleaning litter boxes, playtime & cleanup.

We work 365 days a year, some holidays and weekend availability will be required

Happy !

One of our wonderful clients had a happy visit this summer when her parents came to stay and brought along their sweet puppy, Sunny!

We were so happy to take him on daily walks and teach him how to work with a leash and harness. Like most puppies, he wasn’t thrilled at first, but he quickly became one of our best walkers and loves going outside with us!

Today Sunny is going on a road trip home with his parents after his summer vacation here in Rio Rancho. All of us here at Fuzzy Friends Petsitting will miss him and wish him and his parents a safe journey home. Come back and see us soon!
