No Session is Cookie Cutter…Here’s Why

Is the horse anxious about the work? Not able to physically handle the shifts?
OR, are they evading the vulnerability it takes to fully process the changes and CHOOSE TO HEAL???

From the outside, the signs could look similar. Horse fidgeting, moving around, having trouble settling into the work.

How do you know the difference?

This past week I had a few horses who from the outside would look “challenging” to work with. Each of those horses required me to really trust my intuition in my approach. They all were having trouble TRULY allowing shifts to occur, embracing the vulnerability of the strange sensations, and choosing to heal. As a facilitator of healing, I am required to assess what the horse is telling me in this situation utilizing a key component of the LISTEN Approach, intuition. Do I need to modify my approach? How can I best support this horse in the session? The answers to those questions will best allow the facilitation of healing to occur.
Sometimes it’s just time…
Several of the horses needed me to give them TIME. A lot more time than the “typical” horse might require. They didn’t ask me to stop the session. They asked me to support them and meet them where they were. I encouraged them by letting them know they COULD do hard things.

Each of the horses had extremely profound shifts and improvements. They also all had very animated releases aligning with the individuals they are.
It makes sense that each session is unique to the horse, right? They are after all, created beautifully and uniquely made by God…just like we are. How prideful it would be for us to assume they all heal the same and each session should look the same.

The LISTEN Approach truly embodies this principle.
