Our last one for the year! This one was well worth the wait! He doesn’t even look like a new born! Red roan c**t by Smokinn and out of a daughter of Nitro Dual Doc! We might have to hang on to this one!

We had a pretty neat one early yesterday morning! Bay dun filly! She’s huge! And quite the mover! This 3 hour video doesn’t do her much justice but man she’s got it going on, especially for just being out of a double bred King mare!! This mare has only produced two babies for us and we kept the first one, the biggest c**t we’ve ever had. (She’s as been as big as the year ahead of her c**t crop since weaning) Says a little about the mare if I do say so myself, beings she’s just a mare in a matter of speaking. Now if only Smokinn would put his head on the next one, it would be perfect!! The amount of consistency this stud is producing has been crazy! Not a bad one yet!! More pictures and videos yet to come!

Have you ever had a weird intuition that you need to do something?! Last night I had a feeling that I needed to go check this mare, finally I get on the camera that over looks the next set of mares to foal. And sassy, that isn’t due for another week and hasn’t shown any signs of being close, is laying down with feet out. I rush down to the barn, grab my foaling kit bucket and by the time I make it back to her, he is out. THANK GOD for that sneaky intuition because the sack was very thick and wasn’t broke. Timing was perfect though!

Snapped some quick pictures of our 5 Smokinn babies today! Four colored fillies and one sorrel chromey c**t! Waiting for 3 more by him this year! For those that will ask, the sorrel c**t and the fuzzy wide blaze faced filly will be available! Still deciding between the other two dun fillies 😁

ANOTHER RED DUN FILLY!!! Same markings as the rest but with a little twist! She’s a great big cutie! This makes 4 colored fillies and one chromey c**t! So thankful!!

At 2:00 AM this morning, we had our first Smokinn stud c**t! He arrived so quickly that he forgot to bring his dorsal stripe with him, but thankfully he did remember some chrome. The markings on this little guy are so close to those of the first foal and Smokinn. The mother is a maiden and she handled the delivery like a pro, resulting in a successful birth and a healthy baby!!

Baby #3 is here!!! This makes three beautiful FILLIES!! What a big red dun filly at that!! Her momma is a Sophisticated Catt mare so I am thinking about naming her Sophtly Spokinn, what do you think?

Look what we had yesterday evening!!
Just what we ordered!! A great big buckskin filly!!! This ones definitely a keeper!! PR HAZARDOUSS!
Once again Lena stamped one without a stitch of white on her, which she seems to be fairly good at! Although the way she throws em, it doesn’t matter their color!! Extremely excited for a filly, let alone a buckskin filly out of the cross!!

Lena is getting closer!! She was dark blue two days ago!

This is our only mare that we will never sell any of her foals. She’s 15.3, huge bone, and great big feet. She easily weighs 1500lbs on an good day, yet shes as quick as a whip. She was a dream of a ranch horse and a rope horse. Wyatt and Steve Orth showed her sister heading and heeling and placed 7th at the 2018 AQHA World Show. If we would have gotten Lena at a younger age we would have done the same with her. But now she produces big rope horses and broodmares like herself! This will be a great cross! And the foal already has a great name! PR HAZARDOUSS! (Lena’s is CD Hazolena) We already have big plans for this little one!

HELP!!
I don’t wanna loose all of my regrowth from this spring! Smokinns winter blanket rubbed out some mane and I really don’t want to do it again. He’s pretty hard on blankets so I got one of Schneiders (ARMORFlex, VTEK) really heavy duty blankets with the lifetime guarantee. Loved the blanket beings he didn’t have it shredded in a day and it lasted the whole winter!! So do I keep the only blanket I’ve had last with him and just deal with the rubbed out mane or do I get something that’s not going to rub him but might not last?? Any suggestions from those of you with stalled horses that take their boredom out on their blankets?
Edit: this was with a slinky and breaded mane.
