Sharing an enrichment hack that’s a favorite among our Wellness Boarding and Stay and Train guests. We start with a slow feeder bowl, add kibble, some yummy toppers, and a liquid (dog safe broth, goats milks, water). For an added challenge, this activity can be frozen! Wellness Boarding guest Leo will be enjoying this for supper tonight! 😋🥕
Frank Stay & Train
Frank returned home following his Stay & Train and we adore this sweet boy. He’s really just part of the family at this point and we can’t wait to see him again in the Fall for another fun-filled stay!
Frank had a blast taking sniffy walks, playing with dog pals, and cruising around the yard with a toy in his mouth. We did some refresher training on polite rules for play and his “drop-it” cue. Frank worked hard practicing recall (or coming when called), polite greetings, and his mat work skills.
Send your dogs to train, play, and stay with us! We’re booking into Fall 2024 for our Stay & Train program.
Kona Stay & Train
Kona returned home following her Stay & Train and we loved having this sweet and sensitive girl as a guest. She was a blast to train with and super clever!
Kona had so much fun playing with dog pals and ditching the bowl to enjoy her meals in a variety of enrichment activities. Kona worked hard practicing recall (or coming when called), leash manners, and polite greetings. We look forward to working with her and her guardians as she continues to work on these skills at home under their compassionate care.

Paisley Stay & Train
Paisley went home following her Stay & Train and we’re missing this sweet girl and her morning snuggles.
Paisley had a blast taking sniffy walks and became a sniffy walk enthusiast. She worked incredibly hard as we tackled some remedial house-training, crate training, and learning a few basic cues.
Paisley’s family called this summer camp, which we love! Our Stay & Train vibe is less boot camp more summer camp for sure. We love your dogs!

Bailey Stay & Train
Bailey went home following her Stay & Train and we’re already missing this sweet, busy-bee girl.
Bailey had a blast taking sniffy walks, playing with dog pals, and ditching the bowl to enjoy her meals in a variety of enrichment activities. Bailey worked hard practicing recall (or coming when called), leave-it and drop-it cues, and learning to station on a mat.

Murphy Stay & Train
Murphy completed his Stay & Train and we are so smitten with him. 🥰 Murphy is available for adoption through our friends at Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRRoW).
Murphy worked so hard practicing some basic skills, learning all about making trades, and practicing care items like baths, nail trims, and being brushed. Most importantly at his age, we packed his program with positive socialization experiences. Huge thank you to our friends at Practical Obedience LLC - Custom Dog Training for collaborating with us on Murphy’s program and allowing him to attend Puppy DaySchool socials.
Murphy has the coolest, laid back personality and loves to swim. Due to some dog directed resource guarding, Murphy would be most successful as an only dog OR placed with appropriate dog companions and a guardian who is willing to incorporate some management strategies. Don’t worry, Team Murphy is here to help with that! If you are interested in adopting Murphy please contact us or GRRoW. Please consider sharing to help Murphy find his people!
Archer Stay & Train
Archer completed his Stay & Train and to say we adore this sweet fella would be an understatement. Archer is available for adoption through our friends at Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRRoW).
Archer worked so hard on skills to reduce the likelihood he ingests miscellaneous items an issue that resulted in a couple of obstruction surgeries in his lifetime. These skills included muzzle training, a leave-it cue, and drop-it cue. While this was his main training goal he also worked on some basics, leash manners, and recall. He’s a sweet and sensitive soul and gained so much confidence in some areas he was hesitant with, like jumping in the car.
Archer is human, dog, and cat social. He will need an adopter who is prepared to do some puppy-proofing of his environment to keep him safe but he we repay you with his sweet and silly demeanor. If you are interested in adopting Archer please contact us or GRRoW. Please consider sharing to help Archer find his people!
Frank Stay & Train
Frank went home following his Stay & Train and we’re already missing this sweet and spunky fella. Lucky for us he’ll be back very soon for more training and fun!
Frank had a blast on sniffy walks, playing with his good pal Grits, and made a new friend in our other Stay & Train guest, Murphy. Frank worked hard practicing polite greetings, brushing up his mat work skills, and improving the reliability of his recall (or coming when called).

Hope you and your dogs are enjoying the snowy day! We’re playing in the snow and enjoying an extra day with Stay & Train guest, Berkley to allow for safer travel home. Stay safe and warm! ❄️🩵💙
We have an amazing group of clients working together to help their dogs practice calmly dismissing other dogs they encounter on walks and they are crushing it! 🧠💡🧀
It’s a team effort here at A Dog’s Tale and Kitty (the resident cat) felt last nights mat work really needed some added distraction which she was happy to offer. 🤣❤️
