K9 Officer Rony is a male German Shepherd imported into the United States from Czechoslovakia. Rony was trained at Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, PA. K-9 Rony is a dual purpose K-9, trained in Narcotics and Patrol Work. The Narcotics training means that Rony is trained to aggressively indicate the odors of ma*****na, he**in, co***ne and methamphetamine. The Patrol work includes tracking for lost people or suspects, searching buildings or areas for suspects, handler protection and obedience.

The City of Ripon PD K-9 program is funded by donations to keep the program operational. We are currently fundraising for as he plans for his retirement. Donate online: https://fdlareafoundation.com/donate/

Earlier this week we had our friend Otto in. He had gotten his bone stuck around his jaw and needed to be sedated in order for Dr. Jesse to remove it. After the bone was removed, Otto quickly recovered and is back to his happy self! These bones can easily become stuck around the jaw and we do not recommend giving them to your pets for this reason. If you're interested in giving your pets something to chew on, we would be happy to provide a list of vet approved chews/treats. 🐶🦴
