I swear this is my favorite part of breeding silkies. Blow drying their super soft silky feathers ❤️
Not to mention Johnson and Johnson baby wash makes them smell good and even softer! What does everyone else use to wash their feathered babies?
I absolutely love my Bear. He is the sweetest and cutest little rooster. He reminds me of my Ash, oh how I miss him, but nevertheless, I have Fawkes, Ashes baby now to continue his bloodline.
Back to the subject here, Bear. I get back from picking up 3 beautiful silkies ( will post pics here shortly) and I get to witness the most adorable thing in the whole wide world. My bear crowed for the first time!!

Edward, the turkey you see here is a heritage Bronze Turkey. He is considered a heritage breed because his lineage dates back to the 1700s when his ancestors were considered wild turkeys.
Bronze turkeys get their name from the bronze colored metallic sheen on their feathers. They are much tamer than wild turkeys and are good protectors of their flock.
The weight for a young Tom, like Edward can be as much as 25 pounds. This young man, is about a year old now and is close to that himself. Bronze turkeys are great pets as well as being raised for food. They are a great dual purpose turkey. Have you considered adding a turkey to your flock? 🦃🍗
