Hello everyone! We want to share more about our lovely Kitty Purry that has been with us for the majority of the semester.
You see, Kitty Purry continues to be overlooked. She was returned to the shelter twice, and we struggle to understand why. Kitty Purry is a 2.5 year old altered female and is the sweetest, goofiest, and most loving cat you will ever meet. She warms up instantly and is always excited to greet new people at the door. When she arrived here at Falcon Felines, she walked out of her carrier and wanted lovings right away. She always has to be a part of what you’re doing and investigate. That’s okay, she just loves to help! She also loves to play. While it may be in short spurts, she loves to bat a string toy, catnip toys, and other toys as well. She is more nimble than you might assume.
There are some unique things one should know about Kitty Purry:
- First, she loves to play with her water. She will create a water park with her water dish if she can! We are trying a variety of bowls, even fountains, to see what works best for her. She definitely loves her water, and drinks a good amount throughout the day. That is of course, if she didn’t spill it all. She has been doing great with a non-flip bowl!
- Secondly, she’s a bit wobbly on her feet. While we are unsure of the exact cause of her wobbliness, she doesn’t seem bothered by it at all! She runs, jumps, plays, and does everything normally. She occasionally stumbles and tips over. It just adds to her overall quirky personality :).
- Third, she is on a urinary diet to prevent crystals and urinary issues. Prescription diets are an additional cost to keep in mind. Thankfully she is good about drinking water, which definitely helps keep those crystals at bay.
- Fourth, she has a history of inappropriate urination, hence why she was returned. However, we believe that she was not given a chance, or given what she needs to be successful. We hypothesize that because of her balance issues, she has a hard time squatting like a normal cat does. Therefore, she overshoots traditional litterboxes. Because of this, she does so much better in higher walled litterboxes, or boxes with a lid. The bigger the better too, as she is an 11 pound wonder with balance issues. Even a tote with a hole cut out would be perfect for her.
- Fifth, we were told that she didn’t get along with other cats. However, we believe this was due to an improper introduction. She did amazing meeting her roommate Sassy, and they even played together! A slow, proper introduction with time and space is all she needed to be successful.
Kitty Purry will thrive in a home with people who are willing to be patient and accommodating to her goofy self. She promises to give you endless love and laughs in return! We know that the perfect family is out there for her. Could it be you? Even if you can’t adopt Kitty Purry yourself, please consider sharing this post to help her find her forever home.
