Congratulations to our Good Dog Graduate, Styx!

Styx's mom came to us, in her words 😉, as a "nervous dog mom." Styx was growing into a handsome teenager, but he was struggling with seeing other dogs in public. She knew he was the sweetest boy. She just wanted to help him help himself, and maybe even help others in the future!

Styx joined us for our Day Train program. We focused on socializing him with other dogs and building his confidence through his connection with Mom.

The first step in working through his big feelings was building neutrality around other dogs. Socialization should not mean just tossing them into a group and hoping for the best. Or worse, greeting nose to nose on tight leashes 😬. That does not set them up for success.

Styx loved the new dynamic. It meant everything to him to sit so hard that his afro danced while he stared at Mom 🤣

It was amazing to watch both Styx and his mom grow in confidence together. Their trust in each other grew so much that Styx was happy to watch Mom walk past other dogs in Home Depot.

He has come so far and is such a goofy boy. We are so proud of him and his mom. They have made incredible progress, and we are excited for them to continue this journey together.

Styx is such a Good Dog. Congratulations, Styx! 🥳

Congratulations to our Good Dog Graduate, Mack🎓

Mack’s family adopted Mack for being Mack 😂 Handsome and oh so smart, but he was struggling with being alone.

Mack joined us for our Day Train! We spent our time focusing on building confidence and separation tolerance. Short positive sessions of ‘You are safe. We will always come home to you’ in his crate.

His family put in a ton of work to help him feel better! Now they have an active game plan to help set Mack up for success when he does have to be left alone for a little while.

We are so proud of them! Separation Anxiety is no joke. It takes a dedicated family to work through such big feelings. They did amazing for Mack. Keep up the great work!

Kids + Dogs = The Ultimate Training Team 🐾👧🐶

One of the biggest keys to a well-mannered family dog? 👉 Consistency from the whole family—including the kids!

Swipe to see my 9-year-old daughter Maddie working with one of our pups in boarding, Elsie. 💨🐶 Elsie had the zoomies and was super excited, but Maddie calmly reminded her to respect personal space while still having fun 💛

So many dogs are a little “socially rude” with kids—and most kids don’t know how to set boundaries clearly. That’s why we LOVE working with kids at Crystal Clear Canine Academy! We help them learn how to be calm, confident leaders, just like their parents. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💪

Our June 2025 Graduates have been a real treat. Congratulations to our Good Dog Graduate, Tracker! 🎓

Tracker joined us as a young puppy last fall. His family participated in our Jumpstart program and had a solid plan to work through the winter and connect with his teenage behaviors if they struggled with any.

Well, teenager hood came in fast. The transition into spring from the winter gave him lots of opportunities to push boundaries as he began maturing. Tracker was a good boy… just too smart for his own good and knew how to work his body to get away with it.

Tracker joined us for our Day Train program. We spent time working on impulse control and walking appropriately on a leash, in general, but especially around other dogs.

Tracker was thrilled to put his head to work. He wanted to be a good boy. We just had to help him connect that calmer energy was going get him the attention he wanted.

He loved learning that he got so many snacks when passing another dog. He also loved that he could get a ton of loving attention when he had all four paws on the floor!

We are so proud of the work his mom put in. Tracker is shaping into a handsome young dog. We are so excited for them to continue this journey together with all these new tools.
