Six years in the ground and the pepper trees were over 40' tall and a continuous effort to manage, as they needed to be pruned three times a year. We enjoyed the shade canopy and the visual tunnel it created as you entered the property. In a couple of years that all changed.

Our front yard in 2010

As you can see Our Pepper tress had only been in the ground for three years and they just took off. Also the front yard plantings were filled out. This was around the time the gophers started to discover all the roses Theresa planted.

Theresa started to plant out in front of the house in 2008. It was a slow process as she acquired plants, they went into the ground. it grew out well in just two years.

We had been living on the property in early 2005 in a small trailer and had the property graded in 2006 by Clark Grading. 8 months earlier I cleared 170 orange trees for the house, driveway and back garden area. They went down 12 feet deep before slowly backfilling and compacting as they went. Our building pad was 100' x100' and Ryan Clark completed the building pads in 2 days over a weekend in December.

Clearing the Ash Grove for our driveway and building pads, I hired Bill Paul to push over 170 trees with his bulldozer. But first I had to cut off all the branches of each tree that was going to be taken out.
We did it all in one day and my arms were sore holding a chainsaw above my head for most of the day.
My Grandson Brandon and his Mom Lisa was there when we had all of the trees grinded up into mulch and had a BBQ under the orange trees. Theresa was busy taking pictures and cooking while we worked.

This is an Aerial view of the Ash Grove shortly after we bought it. Google was taking aerial photos from a plane above while I was working the grove. My white Buick can be seen in the upper left corner, and I can be seen in the middle of the orange trees if you look hard enough.
