Riverside's 8th annual Chili Cook Off and Car/Motorcycle Show, hosted by the Arlington Business Partnership, will be May 29. The event will take place over about a half a mile of Magnolia Ave. from Van Buren Blvd to Jackson St. in Riverside. Festivities will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Two stages will hold local band acts, including CUBO on the main stage and Factory Tuned Band on the community stage. In addition to the classic car show, there will be a motorcycle competition. Last year, more than 150 cars and motorcycles participated. There will be a Kids Zone, which will include inflatables, water wars, an exotic petting zoo, a coloring contest, train rides, rock climbing and more. Kids are also invited to participate in the "Little Mr. Hot Sauce" and "Little Miss Chili Pepper" contests. Children ages 12 and older are welcome. There are prizes for the winners and gifts for all participants. Parents can sign up children at the Main Stage on the day of the event.The event will also feature handcrafted arts and crafts, business booths, food booths, beer gardens, a wine bar and chili prepared by the International Chili Society cooks who compete for international prizes. Visitors can taste and judge entries from local chili cooks for the title of "Best Community Cook."To participate in the chili competition call the ABP office at 951-509-1100 for an application and further details.
