*Fireworks Safety for Dogs*

The Fourth of July is tomorrow, it's important to remember that fireworks can be terrifying for our furry friends! The fifth of July is the busiest day of the year for shelters so here are some tips to help keep your pup safe and calm during the celebrations:

Keep them indoors. This is the safest place for your dog during fireworks displays.

Create a cozy, quiet room for your dog to retreat to if they feel overwhelmed.

Distract with treats. Offer yummy treats or toys to distract your dog from the noise.

Avoid taking them to fireworks displays. The loud noises and bright lights can be too much for them.

It’s too late to reach out to your vet for meds, but you local pet store usually carries calming products.

And please, make sure your microchip information is up to date and your dog’s collar tags are secure.
