New Years CelebRACEtion 2013 is in the books….
We tried a couple new things at this event and the feedback has been overwhelmingly GOOD!!!
We added an additional $500.00 to the 1D and Raised the Open Added money to $2000.00
We also added a Top 20 short Go – for the fastest 20 Open Times run on Saturday.
These Girls came back Sunday to run at a Custom Cactus Saddle and awards to 5th.
What we feel these new incentives created was a little motivation to “raise the bar”
Run a little faster – Kick a stride further – Turn a little tighter.
We all get comfortable and there is always room to better ourselves.
Because at the end of the day this is a RACE!! And there is a True “winner” that out runs 260 other racers… We feel like they deserve a little extra… And the only way to accomplish that without taking away from all of the other divisions and changing the payout – was to add money directly to that division. If we were to just add that additional $500.00 to the open – divide that $500.00 by the “40” holes that we paid on Saturday – You would not have even noticed it…
And how much FUN was the short-go?? Personally it was one of our favorite parts of the race… Almost Twenty 17 second runs back to back… And the drive and determination in those 20 racers eyes as they ran for the saddle was a sight to see..
Keep a lookout for more of these exciting new ideas And MANY more in 2014!! We hope you share the same passion and Vision for the future of Barrel Racing in our area.

All of us at California Can Chasers want to take a minute to THANK each and every one of you for supporting our races time after time… Each year our race seems to get bigger and bigger…
There were 466 open entries between Saturday and Sunday combined (264 and 203), and a total payout of OVER $31,000.00… WOW!!!!!
Danyelle Bassett was the standout at this event – winning both Open races, The short-go and the average on her Super Star horse Repete Fame… Taking Home a saddle, Buckle, and about $4832.00 and a few other awards.
The weather was Awesome and the ground was great – thank you to Jeremy Gorham for all of your MANY hours in the tractor..
We want to wish ALL of you a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2014!!!
