Thank you Quilts for Rescues and Lori for everything you do for animals in need and always being the pawfect Furever home!!!!
Why do I make quilts? I make them to help with animal rescue, because a dog rescue brought love back into our home when we felt broken and needed it the most. So, I make quilts hoping others can experience the same, and at the same time give loving homes to those that need it the most. I have one person in particular to thank for that, Carrie Madrid of FurEver Pawz Rescue. She has brought so much golden (Yep, Golden Retrievers) love into our home over the last decade. Now, Carrie needs us. She is battling cancer. Please read her message from today (next paragraph), and help her continue to connect rescue animals with their forever homes.
From Carrie: "1st Chemo treatment under my belt. Not gonna jinx myself. Waiting for the side effects to kick in. At home resting now.
My beautiful, loving, giving friend Lori Archer made this beautiful quilt of all my favorite materials from our rescue quilts. She came down along with her son right before Christmas to see me and gave me this beautiful token of her love and support. (I was laughing because Crystal made a sarcastic comment about my face being in the treatment room.) Lori also brought me a huge box of brand new quilts she made which we will be getting onto the Furever Pawz Rescue page soon. First of the year we have lots of those extra bills on top of still feeding the animals that are in our care.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers with me through this journey. I’m gonna KFG and beat this."
