If you build it, they will come……. and they have. This is the newest resident in our recently completed private healing space. Hiccup (yes, a brave and tender hearted Viking), has joined us today in his somewhat desperate quest for life. Hit by a car and unclaimed, this dogs situation is so reminiscent of, “Louie,” I couldn’t unsee him. So, here we are, home from Animal Control in Flint and an 🆘 call to our local vet for a quality of life assessment and now pain management and a surgical plan going forward. We were encouraged by Hiccups determination to show us he wanted a chance. Despite a shattered shoulder on one side (he’s going to lose that leg, just like in the movie), a broken leg on the other side, and a broken neck (he has feeling and movement in his tail and back legs) he ate a meal, wagged his tail every single time we spoke to him, and gave out kisses. This is one special dog! We sure could use your help creating a new future for this brave boy. We will keep you posted on his progress. Thank you!!! 💜
