Love from Louie is a non-profit aiming to improve the qaulity of life for pets and the people who love them. We will assist owners and pets in as many ways as possible, but to do this we need to get the word out about our organization and start fundraising as well. Happy Friday from our sweet boy Kash. One full week of healing a broken pelvis under his belt. Five more weeks to go! He is the best boy! 💜

This poor boy was found in the weeds, in the rain, with a broken pelvis. The last several days have been a complete whirlwind of unfamiliar surroundings, faces, and discomfort. Finally, this evening, I am happy to report that he is settled in. Kash will require (at least) six weeks of kennel rest (thats a lot of p*e pads!).
As you can see, he now has less hair (not chronically uncomfortable on giant clumps of matted fur), and, while he was under anesthesia to get shaved, he no longer has 🥜. Kash has a great appetite, loves sleeping in his cozy space, and is a complete champ about taking medication to control his pain. Welcome to your fresh start!

After twelve years together, we said goodbye today to the heart of our family and the rescue. Jimmy was the most influential rescue partner I’ve ever had. He grounded the fearful, comforted the weak, emboldened the shy, ignored the arrogant and considered everyone a friend. I can’t think of a better way to honor him than by asking our friends to consider a gift in his memory so we can share, again, the best thing Jimmy ever got… a second chance.

Friends, what would you be willing to do to save your best friend? Not eat? Sell plasma? Beg? Send messages to complete strangers hoping someone will help you? Well, this young lady has done all of those things. I am asking my friends to help me support this young woman’s effort to save her dog, and, if we are successful, help her with the cost of insulin for Honey (the prohibitive cost that started this mess). Of course, we were hoping for a less dramatic surgical intervention but once they got our girl under anesthesia, they found that the entire ear canal was involved and the entire ear flap had thickening. The surgeon completely removed her left ear, inside and out. Bella is exhausted and will be receiving lots of pharmaceutical help the next two weeks. She’s expected to make a full recovery and will never again have to live with that type of extreme discomfort. We appreciate every contribution to our rescue. Saving one life at a time 💜

Hi friends, we need some help. This girls owner has done everything right. She’s been spayed, had palate and nose surgery, but this has pushed them to the limit and she has been surrendered to us. After suffering from and being treated for chronic, painful ear infections, it has been deemed necessary to completely remove her ear canal. This is a delicate surgery that requires a veterinary surgeon. We have submitted our nonprofit paperwork (Bella sees a surgeon on the 22nd) and will be receiving a generous 30% discount on her procedure, but that still leaves us with approximately $2,500-$2,800 balance. If we could get all of our friends to donate $2.00, we’d have it! We know it’s tough out there. We keep it simple. One life at a time. Thank you! 💜

A few week ago we added these two precious puppies to our pack. As expected our home group worked their magic and took Hazel and Mozzie into the pack and showed them the ropes! There isn’t a pack that does it better than ours! Congratulations to the two lucky puppies and lucky families that get to spend life’s adventures together! 💜💜💜

These seven week old siblings had their very first veterinary appointment! Mozzie weighing in at 12.6 lbs. and sister Hazel weighing in at 11.5 lbs. This little duo behaved perfectly!! 🥰

The vets couldn’t save this puppy’s leg after an evil person broke it…. twice. But we did save the puppy. Little Milo is recuperating from surgery with a very special foster to adopt family. Donations make magic happen 💜 🐾
