New Life Dog Rescue

New Life Dog Rescue New Life Dog Rescue is here to rescue at risk dogs from the local community, rehabilitate and find them forever homes.

There are so many dogs needing fosters. After much thought and doctors advice I am sad to say I have made the decision to close down the New Life Dog Rescue. We have not taken any new dogs in some time due to lack of fosters and I, Kris, personally cannot handle the big ones anymore due to medical issues.

I will be donating any leftover funds and donations to area rescues who have supported us and helped with the many dogs we have taken in over the years.

I will take a small foster dog from time to time when I can for the many wonderful rescues out there asking for help.

Please consider fostering to help save a life.

Thank you to everyone that has adopted and supported NLDR over the years.

Raleigh is keeping her ears on radar alert for the forever home she deserves.

A little about this 2 1/2 yo hound/pit mix: She loves all humans, she stole her batteries from the everready bunny, she has a very short off button, she gives the best hugs and does best with other dogs that match her energy.

Raleigh has been through a professional board and train with the amazing RafStar K9 and her adoption includes a refresher one on one course with her trainer and adopter. She would do best in a home with older kids as she loves to run and spin the tail on the doggy and may knock down a toddler. She will need a home with a fenced in yard and an active family that knows how to set rules and boundaries for a loving dog to be the best part of their family.

If you know someone that might be interested please have them fill out an adoption application at www.newlifedogrescue.com or contact us directly at [email protected] with any questions.

Having a contract that says the dog comes back to the rescue is a great thing. Unfortunately Raleigh’s housemate, a female GS just did NOT like her being there. Raleigh was a great companion to the high energy Jack Russell and the kitty living there but the tension with the GS was just too much. Thank you momma Freda for driving all the way back from Hickory NC and bringing her back to her foster home.

Raleigh loves the living with another young pup to keep up with her energy level and has settled right back
Into the rules and boundaries in her foster home and training from RafStar K9. She immediately knew not to come in the kitchen and loves her crate and routine.

Raleigh is a 2.5 YO hound mix that thrives best on routine and boundaries. She will need a fenced in back yard and uses a doggy door like a champ. She will do best with a home without toddlers because she is truly a doggy toddler herself and loves to go go go!

If you are interested in meeting Raleigh please fill out an adoption application at https://newlifedogrescue.com/adoption-application. We will be happy to set up a meet and greet.

Zoey is ready for her forever home. Do you have a special place in your heart for a senior shiba?

Zoey came to NLDR back in the beginning of November with some skin issues and horrible teeth. We had a full dental done and a few teeth removed and once on a good quality food and a 1/2 tab of apaquil she is healthy and happy.

At 11 years old and 37 lbs she’s a bit bigger than your average shiba inu and likely has something else thrown in her breeding but she also doesn’t have all the crazy traits of a shiba. She’s not a runner, is good about getting her nails done is NOT a picky eater (she will eat anything) and never goes up on furniture.

We are looking for a quiet home where she can be with her humans all day as she loves to curl up at your feet and stay with her people. She’s great on a leash and gets excited to go for her walkies. She does food guard so best that she be in a house without little kids who might drop food. She is crate trained and used to eating in her crate.

Zoey is looking for a home in the Tampa Bay Area with owners who would be with her during the day and nights or someone who works from home. She has not been cat tested but lives with 3 other dogs currently and is good with all of them.

If this sounds like a fit for your home please go to our adoption application and complete. Once we receive the application we will do a background check and if Zoey approves the application we will contact you. Here’s the link to the application: https://newlifedogrescue.com/adoption-application/

Happy New Year! Winnie and her friends are wishing you all a Healthy and Happy 2022

Did you know we have dogs in our compassion care that we continue to support? Winnie is one of them who came to us 5 years ago, was adopted and returned when her medical went past the point where her family could support her and life’s changes in her home added to her stress. She was returned to us and we got her back on a medically controlled pain free life again and was placed in an amazing home with her two little dog siblings. We are so grateful to our foster families that take these pups in and give them the life they deserve.

Thank you all for your support in 2021 and allowing us to save and support the pups.

We would like to thank everyone that contributed to Zoe’s dental. We wanted you to know where your much appreciated donations go.

Zoe is doing good and recovered well even though she was in surgery for a little over 2 hours. She’s eating soft food and being her very needy self again.

Thank you again for opening your heart to helping our pups at New Life Dog Rescue

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at New Life Dog Rescue.

December 1 can’t come soon enough for our girl Zoe. I don’t think I have ever seen a darker, more rotten, canine. Her mouth is full of teeth like these 😞. As yiu are enjoying your holiday meal be thankful you can chew. Zoe can’t. Everything she eats is soft right now. If you have some left over change after the thanksgiving holiday please consider a donation toward her dental. The estimate at Family Animal Hospital was $750. Zoe and all of us at New Life Dog Rescue would be so grateful.

Zoe has had a long weekend with lots of walks. Now it’s time to put her feet up and rest. She’s come so far in the month we’ve had her. Look how much hair she has on her legs and paws now.

Zoe is a great older gal who just needed some TLC and a major dental (scheduled for Dec 1). We are so proud of her.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready for Turkey Day!!!!

Raleigh Pupdate: She’s loving life in her new home and is just an amazing chameleon. She knows how to play gentle and soft with the kitties in the home and also how to turn on the speed to chase through the yard with the resident German shepherd and rat terrier. Talk about living the best life. Raleigh definitely is!!!

It’s been a long time coming, Raleigh has finally found her forever home with a great new family. She will have tons of property to run and play on with her two new canine buddies.

Raleigh is an amazingly sweet girl who literally loves all people and dogs and cats and has the energy of a energizer bunny. She requires a strong leader that helps her control that energy and gives her outlets to burn it. We feel she has finally found that home.

Thanks Freda for meeting us half way and for loving Raleigh as much as we do. Happy Tails Raleigh!!!

Happy Sunday morning from Zoe. She’s as snug as a bug in a rug this morning.

We learned so much about Zoe this week. She’s a Velcro dog that just wants to sit at your feet. She may resemble a shiba inu but her personality is not so shiba like. She barks, doesn’t mind her nails being trimmed (no shiba scream!) and is more dependent upon human love and pets than your typical shiba.

Roll a ball and this girl goes crazy playing with it. She gets along with all other 4 dogs in the house. And she loves her food. But her food and treats have to be soft for now. She has a $750 dental estimate to remove a few rotten teeth and try to find what in her mouth is hurting her 😞.

She’s had a busy week of grooming, thank you Just Grooming of South Shore who took special care of Zoe because it’s likely she has not been groomed in a long time. And a special thank you to everyone at Family Animal Hospital for being patient with her while they assessed all her needs and got what they needed to do a senior blood panel. Great News!!! She’s heartworm negative and bloodwork looks perfect for a 12 yo girl.

Now onto raising the funds to do the dental. Any help is so greatly appreciated and we hope to get Zoe in ASAP to get her some relief from whatever is hurting her mouth.

Donations can be made at our [email protected] or at our webpage www.newlifedogrescue.com. We are a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible.

Please welcome Zoe to New Life Dog Rescue. She’s a 12 yo shiba inu with some allergies and hasn’t seen a vet in some time. She will start her vet visits this week and we are praying she is heartworm negative. She was an owner surrender that is looking for a new life.

Although this dog was listed with SIRF Shiba Inu Rescue of Florida (SIRF) she was never with them.

Donations to our 501c3 would be greatly appreciated and you can PayPal @ Flnewlifedogrescue@gmail or go to our webpage and donate at the donate button at www.newlifedogrescue.com We appreciate all help to getting this girl vaccinated, heartworm checked and started on an allergy regimen.

Welcome Zoe to your new life
