Introducing Remi x Ursus "C" litter, whelped yesterday morning. First born at 7:28am, Clifford, weighing in at 16 oz. Such a sweet strong boy, but unfortunately he was born with a cleft lip & palate. To say I was beside myself is an understatement. I have never dealt with this or tube feeding, which if you aren't experienced is very tricky, not to mention any other issues that can ensue.
I am SO grateful to everyone who helped me yesterday. Lesli, owner ( & friend of mine) of the gorgeous boy who sired my litter & talked on the phone with me all day through all of this. Thank you! ❤
Kelly, my friend who offered to travel out to me to show me how to tube feed & talked to me to help me understand it all! Thank you! ❤
Thank you to my wonderful vet & great friend, Dr. Marla Hall who is always just a phone call a way! Always giving me the support that I need.
And a BIG special thank you to my wonderful friend, Cindy, who took the bull by the horn & orchestrated care for little Clifford. She contacted the The Mia Foundation - Love For Mia who handles special needs animals by giving them the medical care & special attention they need. So blessed they are around! Clifford was transported to NY yesterday, thank you to a special woman named Nancy.
I am so grateful to you, Cin!!!!! I couldn't ask for a better friend!
We will be able to follow Clifford thru his journey. I will post it & keep you all updated! He is a little sable baby!
Second born, black & red, Claus weighing in at 18 oz. Claus will reside with us for the rest of his life & his call name will be "Hank." I have now joined many singleton groups as this is a first for me. Many firsts. But I woke up this morning after processing yesterday & am feeling confident.
Thank you to all that reached out, too! And my family. I go into this with my whole heart. And they understand that about me. ❤
