Because He died, we can live!
As you hunters prepare for the upcoming turkey season, make sure to take time to reflect on what Jesus did for you. Those 2,000+ year old nails that pinned him to the cross are a representation of everytime we fall short of God’s Glory. Jesus loved each one of us enough to endure more pain and suffering than you could imagine. He took the beatings and hung on the cross so that we didn’t have to. We all mess up, we all sin, we all don’t deserve God. You don’t have to clean yourself up before coming to the cross. Jesus wants you, the way that you are.
The pain and suffering is awful to think about. In hindsight it’s easy to say that we would be on Jesus’ side if we lived during that time, but the truth is probably far beyond that. It wasn’t the Roman’s that led Jesus to die, it was me, it was you, and even the ones he chose to follow him.
The good news is that Jesus’ story didn’t end on that cross. I pray that if you don’t know Jesus, you can find a church to attend on Sunday to learn about what happens next.
Spoiler alert 🚨 He conquered the grave and Jesus lives still today!
So when you’re in the turkey woods, think about what you are getting to do and where you are. You get to experience God’s beautiful creation that he made for us. Also take time to reflect on what your spiritual life is like. Remember, our time here is very temporary. Just like hunting, our life is just a season. Don’t let your season end before trusting in the Lord!
