Before we take our break until November 1st... enjoy Wasabi dancing. If you remember Wasabi was one of the 25 parrots rescued from the hoarding case in North Carolina. She was stuffed in a cage with Spicey for years , not a cage a dog crate and Spicey was plucking her . Jonah adopted Wasabi ( greenwing) , she is letting her feathers grow in , has started talking , loves her showers, tries everything she is offered and we just discovered she will dance for hours 🤣🤣.

We are taking a much needed break all rescues / fosters have gone home and all toy orders went out , groomings have been done . Its time for us to have a vacation , focus on our own Parrots , our family and sit back and relax for awhile . We will temporarily shut the page down tomorrow but will be back in November !!!!!!

Spicey update , if you recall Spicey is one of the 25 large parrots pulled from a hoarding case in North Carolina last November . We fostered 5 of the 25 with Spicey still being here because she was petrified of life , her body condition was grim she was not only completely horrified of people she had not been eating much for quite some time and was petrified to come put of her cage. Let's roll ahead 9 months later , she is molting out all her mangled broken feathers. She is now eating an awesome diet and tries every fresh food put in front of her . She stayed showing intrest in me and does not fear cry and steps right up to me.

Today we put Spicey to the test. Anne brought her rescued blue and gold Macaw to have her beak and nails done , so we asked Anne to interact with Spicey. ( we had to excuse her hubby as we do know Spicey is terrified of men ) . Spicey stepped right up to Anne and snuggled right into her for a good 10 minutes!!! She allowed head scritches and remained sweet as can be .

Anne has a good low key personality for parrots so we thank her for helping us see if Spicey could start to meet other females.

Our hearts were so happy for Spicey seeing this interaction today . For everything she's been through the fact she is starting to trust and interact so calmly with humans is incredible. Its a huge step regarding trust , she has no reason to trust any human .

Spicey is a great example how even difficult cases can be rehabbed .

I will be doing parrot grooming for 4 days this coming Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday .

Beak & Nail exam and trim with organic coconut oil added to beaks and feet . $ 15 littles and small parrots. Intermediate and extra large parrots $25.

Full body condition check included

Shower $5.00 , beneficial for birds that don't bathe much or ever or are only spritzed. A 5 minute soaking shower will help remove dirt and dust buildup and restore feathers .

Wing check and baby Clip for those who request , $5.00.

Band removal $ 5.00

All parrots must be in clean carriers . Doesn't matter if your parrot is a biter Jonah & I have the ability to do complete grooms with no trauma .

I am getting ready to take some down time so get your parrot scheduled with me ASAP. Please message me for a day and time. I am accepting appointments from 9am to 10pm on these 4 days. I won't be available again until December !!!! Taking some time to myself and work with a few foster parrots that require extensive rehab🥰

I have been asked every now and then how I set up my own parrot cages , this is one of my cages below , all of my smaller birds cages look similar ( lovvie, keet , parrolet) . No unsafe toxic, metals , no unsafe fasteners , no dowels , no plastic , no toxic paints ( temu toys are proven chemical laden and toxic ) no deadly cotton rope and no dangerous hormone inducing hidey huts . All toys simulate natural chewing , shredding, foraging . Busy parrots are happy parrots ! Toys are replaced , weekly , perches as needed. Perches this time around are ash , butterfly bush and persimmon.

There is an adoption process for this baby even if I know you. Too many people are impulse taking in parrots and I am inundated with surrender calls from people are in way over their heads . From this point forward even the little parrots that are surrendered to us will have to go through the adoption process to ensure you have really thought through bringing a parrot home and are the best fit 🥰
