Treasure on the treadmill
After a very busy day with lots of visitors and playtime, some cats would be taking a nap. Not Treasure! We spotted her taking a run on the treadmill near closing time. She may still be running long into the night.
To meet Treasure and the other kitties at the cat cafe, make a reservation at www.kittycitycatcafe.com!
Creative reuse with kittens
Even the kittens are enjoying the latest donation to the creative reuse center at the Blue Ridge Indie Market! The donor happened to include some empty spools of thread - perfect kitten entertainment! You too can check out the creative reuse center at the front of the store. It works like a little free library for craft supplies: take what you want for free and if you want, leave any craft supplies from home that youâre looking to get rid of. We just recently got a couple of big donations of cross stitch kits and patterns and sewing supplies. Come check it out!

Lisa playing
Sometimes you may be at the cat cafe and staff will get SO EXCITED over a cat just being a cat, so we wanted to give some backstory here. Two-year-old Lisa has been here over 100 days, and I can count the number of times she has come out for customers on one hand. She came to Angels of Assisi as a feral, dropped off with her baby kittens. After arriving at the cat cafe, it took months before she even felt comfortable stepping out of the cabinet with Kitty City staff in the room. But she is slowly building up her confidence, coming out when itâs not too noisy and even rubbing up against Kitty City staff to ask for pets. But it was still a shock to everyone when she spotted people playing with a toy and hopped out of the cabinet to join the game. So we wanted to show it to you all here, because this seemingly minor occurrence is a HUGE step for this cat, one that has been months in the making. And weâll keep working with her as long as it takes for her to find her forever home.
