We have another update to share, this time from Holly! Holly was a long-time resident of Angels of Assisi before coming to the cat cafe, and when she came to us, they told us that if she stayed in the shelter she was very unlikely to get adopted. After months at Angels and over forty days with us, this anxious kitty has found her perfect home with a new owner (unironically a future therapist) who took her in with open arms, quirks and all. We hear that she is adjusting very well and loves her new human siblings! We are so happy that she has found a new owner who is working with her to adjust into a happy family life and be able to show how sweet she is, and we wish them all the best!

We wanted to share an update on Davie, our former resident grumpy-faced cat! Davie was adopted last month after coming to us in June and spending a large part of his life in the shelter due to ongoing thyroid issues. He went home with some great people who did not hesitate for a second to take home a cat with medical needs. They write that “He's getting more comfortable, vocal, and playful every day!” and say that he greets them whenever they walk in the room. We’re so glad that Davie has found a happy home!

We got a couple more updates from former Kitty City residents! The first is from our playful friend Noah (now Pepper), who was with us for three months before going home last weekend. His new owners say, “Noah (dba Pepper because he’s got so much pep) has integrated seamlessly into our family! He and Nacho started playing pretty much immediately which is is exactly what we hoped for. He even seems to like his human companions and actually curled up on my husband’s chest last night. Thank you so much for bringing Pepper into our lives!”

The second is Otto (now Honey), who was adopted as a kitten back in August. His new owners say, “We adopted “Otto” now known as Honey back in August! We love him so much, and he is so attached to us. We bought him for our son, and he showers him and us in love and cuddles daily.”

If you have adopted a kitty from us, please send us an update! We love to hear how everyone is doing! Even if they are only with us for a short time, we love and remember all the cats who pass through our doors (even the ones who drive us crazy sometimes). ❤️

The kitties had a great time with Santa Paws, Angels of Assisi, and all their visitors today, and they are ready for some holiday rest and relaxation! Blue Ridge Indie Market and Kitty City Cat Cafe will be on the following schedule this week:

Monday-Wednesday: closed
Thursday: normal hours
Friday: closed
Saturday: normal hours

Santa Paws stopped by Kitty City to bring gifts for all the kitties!

Santa Paws visited today to help kitties from Angels of Assisi find furrrever homes and bring gifts for the residents of Kitty City!

A good time was had by all at the holiday pawty: Huckleberry couldn't believe how many Churus she ate, Nuke got a new toy, and Lisa showed one of the newbies how much fun a good cat wand can be.

Angels of Assisi is here today from 12-3 with some adorable adoptable kitties, in addition to our adoptable kitties in the cat cafe! All adoption fees are waived until Christmas, pending approval of your adoption application by Angels of Assisi.

Meet Genevieve! This beauty just arrived yesterday, and she is happily settling into cat cafe life. Eleven-year-old Genevieve has a sweet and calm disposition, patiently getting pets even from some very excited young visitors to the cafe. This is a beautiful, friendly cat, and we’re betting she’ll find her forever home very soon, so stop by and see her tomorrow during our adoption event! Adoption fees are waived until Christmas, pending approval of your application by Angels of Assisi and Kitty City.

Santa!! Oh my gosh, we KNOW him!!!!

Santa will be here on Sunday for the Angels of Assisi Cat Lovers Month Holiday Adoption Event to help get the kitties of Kitty City and Angels of Assisi what they really want for Christmas - furrrever homes!!!

Santa will be here to meet our two legged AND four legged friends (as you can see, shopcat Butterbean had a few things to "explain" to stay on the nice list!)

Santa's elves will be here too, so come make crafts the the pros.

We are accepting items for our feline friends, including clumping litter and dry cat food.

Mama Cat and Holly are eagerly waiting for their new owner to walk through the door. Will it be you? These cats are working overtime to show everyone how sweet they are!

Meet Noah. Noah has no idea he isn’t a kitten. He loves to play with all the other cats, whether they want to or not. He even likes to venture out into the store to get in some playtime with shop cats Willie and Butterbean (Butterbean enjoys this much more than Willie, who has to maintain a professional image as meownager). He has a sweet side, especially towards the kittens, and is quick to run over if they show any sign of distress. He is also quick to help out if any of the other cats have dropped some treats or have treats on their faces, again just out of the goodness of his heart, no ulterior motives.

Noah came to us from Angels of Assisi in September, and after three months in the cat cafe, we would love to see him find his forever home soon! He would especially love a home with another playful kitty to be his buddy. Let’s help this guy find a home by Christmas!
