Lick Run Community Development Refining the interdependence within our community to meet evolving needs.

Lick Run CDC creates resilient infrastructure, an environment for interaction and exchange in the local human & biological ecosystems, and opportunities for education and community initiatives by cultivating the ethics of care of earth, care of people, and fair share. Currently we are doing Workforce Development Training in partnership with Garden Variety Harvest and YESSWVA.

Take Root is planting at the EnVision Center Garden!

Do you know the young adults in NW Roanoke who are learning to farm, preparing healthy meals, and becoming leaders in their community? Our program pays students to build food sovereignty in their communities, creating a pipeline for careers in urban agriculture.

Congratulations to the Fall participants of our Take Root programming! Last Friday we gathered to celebrate their accomplishments. They've put in a lot of hard work over the last several months learning about local food systems, and we hope to see them and their peers again!🥳

Special thanks to City of Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority and Gregory Goodman for allowing us to host our end of session celebration at The EnVision Center and thanks to Queen's Vegan Cafe, LLC for making the delicious meal we enjoyed.

Of course the most thanks go to our fantastic instructor's Cameron Terry, Katie Struble, Chloe Johnson, Davey Stewards, Shawn Jadrnicek, Gene Yagow, and W. Hunter Hartley for their excellent programming and dedication to making this program successful. ❤️
