Black Dog Furniture Paint dries to a velvety, matte finish and can be used on a multitude of surfaces, including glass, metal, wood, and ceramics & can be applied over paint, varnish, lacquer, or poly.
Apply the paint to a clean surface using either the brush of your choice or a paint sprayer. Easily create distressed effects, washes, or bright, bold, contemporary finishes with our expandable palette.
Choose either Guard Dog or Show Dog, in satin or matte finishes, to guard against the abuses of everyday use!

TOPCOAT APPLICATION
Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint must be top coated in order to protect the painted surface.
Guard Dog, a water-based polyurethane, is our toughest topcoat but may amber when used over lighter colors.
Show Dog is made from the clearest, non-amber urethane and the clearest acrylic to offer superb surface protection without color alteration.
Both topcoats can be sprayed or brushed. Apply a minimum of two coats.
We suggest allowing the paint to cure for 24 hours before topcoating. If working in a non-air-conditioned space in high humidity allow for extra drying time.
As with all polyurethane products: DO NOT SHAKE, GENTLY STIR.
If you like a waxed finish, you most certainly can use wax over Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint. Wax will darken the color. Wax is very stable, but not durable. Wax offers only modest protection against water damage, provides no protection against solvents, makes the paint difficult to remove, and at best is very challenging to paint over.

Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint is completely mixable which means you can create your own colors using any of the pre-mixed hues.
Adding Clean Canvas (our true white) will allow you to create a “tint” or lighter shade of any of the colors. Adding Black Dog Black will allow you to create a “shade” or darker hue of any of the colors.
