🩷 Meet TOTO 🩷

Toto is a small, ten-year-old female mixed breed who was returned to our shelter thru no fault of her own. Toto’s person recently passed away and no one in the family could care for her. 🥺

Toto is such a sweet little girl who gets along with cats and other dogs and does great on a leash! She craves attention and absolutely LOVES being with people. ❤️ However…..

Toto has seizures. She is on medication to help control them but she occasionally still has them. Because of this, she would do best in a calmer home with someone who is home most of the time. Toto is also on a medication for a skin allergy. Her adopter must be able to provide and be sure she gets the medications she needs.

Toto is still mourning the loss of her person and needs a special someone who will love her and take care of her medical needs. Could that person be you?

If interested in Toto, please apply at bchsonline.org

🐾 Roger Update! 🐾

Remember Roger, our class clown and heart-stealer? ❤️ Well, this 1-year-old goofball is still on the lookout for his forever family — and he’s been making big strides in foster care!

Roger’s story began in a small, high-kill shelter after he was dumped as a pup. He missed out on some of the early lessons puppies usually get, but now he’s catching up fast. With structure and patience, he’s learning, focusing, and showing what a smart, eager boy he really is.

✨ Roger’s Highlights:
• ✅ Dog-friendly (best with medium/large dogs, not small ones)
• ✅ Crate trained (accidents only if he isn’t let out on time)
• ✅ Quick learner — thrives with structure and consistency
• 🤪 Total class clown — goofy, playful, and full of character
• 🐕 Still learning the ropes with toys, but curious and trying
• 🛑 Resource guards high-value treats (like bully sticks), but not food or water
• 🚫 Likely no cats for this silly guy

Roger has come such a long way, and with the right family he’ll keep growing into the amazing companion we know he can be. He’s goofy, loyal, and just waiting for his chance to shine in a home of his own.

📍 Fostered in Hollidaysburg, PA — Roger is available now and ready for his happily-ever-after.

Run D.O.G. is a 3-year-old male. He has been affectionately referred to as a “Permanent Puppy” due to his small stature.
Run came to the shelter after being pulled from unfortunate living conditions in Bedford County, along with many other dogs and animals. All of Run’s family members have found their forever homes and he is still searching for his forever. We are suspecting he will need help with house training.
Otherwise, he is a very happy guy! He has a lot of energy and would be a great outdoor hiking companion or a sport dog. Run is a food thief and will absolutely take advantage of short children and steal their food! He will need to learn some manners, but he is so eager to please! Run absolutely loves to run laps around the outside yards with his favorite stuffy in his mouth! He is not much for actively playing with other dogs, but he does enjoy spending time with some of his doggie friends here at the shelter. We believe Run could have canine friends outside of the home, but would prefer to have his own space in his own home. He unfortunately cannot live with cats. A fenced in yard is preferred, but not required. If you come to see Run D.O.G, he is sure to steal your heart… and maybe your food.😉

** RUN D.O.G. is in our care in Altoona PA. He is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, spayed/neutered and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. In person applications take priority over ones mailed or emailed (especially on a popular animal). An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab or at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder when time permits. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application, and they may not be responded to. We can only accept so many applications for each animal. We do adopt out of state, but we cannot hold the animal. **

PA Kennel License #1333.

Meet Manolo 🌟

Manolo has the looks (seriously, just look at that face 😍)… but let’s just say he’s still working on the brains part of the package. This 11-week-old cutie is a mixed breed mystery—his momma looked like a Lab mix, but Manolo is one of a kind!

Manolo is the more timid one compared to his brother, and he’ll need a patient family to help him come out of his shell. One thing he’s sure about? He does NOT like his crate. He’s also learning the ropes of potty training—though sometimes he gets his timing a little backwards (oops, baby steps!).

✨ What makes Manolo special:
• Adorable looks that could stop traffic 💕
• Sweet and shy personality
• Learning to potty outside (with a little comic relief along the way!)
• Hates crates but does fine when he’s with his people
• Just 11 weeks old and ready to grow with his forever family

Manolo is waiting for someone to laugh at his goofy mix-ups, love him through his timid moments, and show him how wonderful life can be outside of a shelter. Could that someone be you? 🐾
