We have some EXCITING news… Villa is officially for sale!

Villa For Rent is a 7-year-old Standardbred, standing at 15.1 hands. He was previously harness raced, then sat for about nine months, and has been in constant training since mid-February 2024. He’s been under saddle for about three months and was a piece of cake to back the first time. No buck under saddle, not spooky and not a mean bone in his body, just young and green!

Rides out on trails with a loose rein, solo or with others, and does fantastic! Currently working on strengthening the trot and will pace occasionally. Easy half-halt and working on bending. Has not cantered under saddle, but building muscle on the lunge. Would recommend an intermediate rider as he is still green.

He is one of the smartest horses we’ve been privileged to work with and it is so fun to watch him figure things out. He is beginner safe on the ground, stands perfectly for farrier and vet, and working on ground tying. Lots and lots of ground work and lunging under his belt.

UTD on all shots, teeth, deworming, sheath, coggins, etc. Barefoot and never had a lame step while with us! He has been around kids, dogs, machinery, etc. and couldn’t care less. He is fine in a stall or pasture board.

He is truly a sweetheart and we know he will go far in any direction you want to take him! He is an absolute blast to work with and we are so excited for his future prospects.

Today’s ride included more bending and softening around the inside leg, backing up, and trotting more than the whole arena! Needless to say Villa and I are both sweating. Every day he figures it out more and more!

We cannot say enough good things about this guy! We’ve said this from the start but MAN OH MAN is it fun to watch his brain work. Villa is working on getting more balanced at the trot under saddle and not breaking into the pace, but he’s getting the hang of it! Fun trotting exercises in the outdoor and a hack out on the trails today 🐎🌳

Third solo-ride with Villa tonight! So so proud of him. There have been no issues under saddle, no “special” behavior, just some rebalancing and figuring out where our legs are. But tonight, we got some nice blowing, relaxation, and moving between the legs. We are still at a walk, but trotting is in our near future! Canter is coming along nicely on the lunge as well 🙂 thanks again Racehorse Reimagined for pairing us with this special guy!

Posting for a friend - FREE pasture horse (currently located in Ohio, new owner would just pay for relocation)

Bear, previously known as Chip, is an 8yo OTTB Gelding. He is kind, stands in the crossties quietly for grooming and farrier, and is playful in the field. Middle of pecking order.

He was purchased to be a teen's hunter/jumper, but once back in full work (had been off for approx 3 years), came up chronically sore in his back, behind the wither. It is uncertain if this was the result of a casting accident, or if it existed before and was made worse from riding. He has been off for 7 months or so and is still painful when palpated. He has had 2 rounds of adequan in the last year, chiropractic and massage, Shockwave treatments, and rounds of anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers with no resolve.

Bear remains sound and happy in turnout - and is quite breathtaking to watch when he goes for a gallop. Unfortunately, his owners are unable to afford his retirement as they search for a suitable horse for their daughter. Therefore, Bear is seeking a new home as a companion horse.

Walter you are forever loved, will be forever missed. We are sad to share that we had to say goodbye to Walter today. Our sincerest condolences to Walter’s mom, we were blessed to have Walter at HCH since 2017. He was truly the gentleman of the barn. He had the biggest heart of any horse, taking care of and leading around his best friend Cajun, who is partially blind. Cajun would often place his head on Walter’s back to be led around the pasture. Walter had a beautiful and happy life, but unfortunately it was his time. We all miss him dearly.

Meet Bonita 🥰 she is home safe and sound in our quarantine paddock. Next we get her healthy and find out if she is pregnant or or not.
