Bailey has been such a blessing to our family. She came to us as a gift from Sherry during her amazing birthday puppy giveaway last year. We were so very blessed to be the winner and it came at a time when our family desperately needed something to smile about. On Aug 25 2024, I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Shortly afterward in September, on our 25th wedding anniversary, we lost our 14 year old golden doodle named Miley.

In those days, last fall with an empty house and all the unknowns of surgery, treatments, outcomes, etc. there was very little to smile about. When we heard we won a new puppy we were beyond struck with emotion. Before the giveaway we were only knowing bad news, but this blessing came at the perfect time and added a glimmer of hope for positive things to come.

We had planned to pick up Bailey in Alabama, but after a double mastectomy, I was unable to drive or fly. So my husband and daughter met a driver in North Carolina right before Christmas. Since then Bailey has been pretty much the center of our world. We were also fortunate to be able to enroll Bailey in the puppy prep school for several weeks of training. It made our lives much easier because she was already very well behaved when we got her.

Throughout the winter while I was having chemo and then radiation treatment, I would stay in a separate bedroom in the house and Bailey would come in to visit me. She would simply lay her head on the bedside so I could pet her. It was like she knew she had to be gentle with me.

One of her favorite things from day one has been playing fetch. She will play all day from sun up until sundown. And when summer came we realized how much she loved to swim. Our other dogs didn’t get into the in-ground pool, but Bailey loves to swim day and night, all summer long:) Her daily life is filled with playing in our wooded backyard, chasing squirrels up trees, walks by the lake and boat rides in the summer. Her most favorite thing is going to play with our neighbors labradoodle named Gus.

She has the sweetest, silliest, carefree personality that just makes us laugh all the time.
We celebrated her first birthday back in late September. She speaks with her eyes and sometimes forgets how big her monstrous paws are.
We are forever grateful for Sherry’s generosity and the amazing team at Smergalia. Their puppies are much more than just dogs, they are life long family members that leave amazing paw prints on our hearts.

This is our precious grand doggy Bentley who is 9 1/2 born April 15, 2015. He is the most cuddly, sweet, gentle, smartest golden doodle F1. His mommy passed away last year and as much as he misses her, he knows how much he is loved. He has been giving us comfort since his mommy passed and we are so blessed to have him. His mommy did such a wonderful job with him and gave him so much love and spoiled him the way he should be. He loves his toys, but he’s so gentle with them that he has three bins full of them. I can’t imagine life without him and he continues to carry his mommy’s spirit with him.

Lambeau is our 5 year old Teddybear Schnoodle. He is our silent guardian, watchful protector and our white knight. He is extremely intelligent, playful, goofy and the neighborhood supervisor.

Reggie is our 3.5 year old Teddybear Goldendoodle. He is our angel face, constant companion and the happiest dog in the world. He wakes up with a waging tail. He loves to snuggle and play with his Cassie ball. Wherever I am, is where he wants to be.

They both LOVE to be outside, even this morning when it is -1º! Reggie rolls in the snow every single day! They are both exceptionally well trained. They both started with 8 weeks of Doodle Prep School with Kristi.
