****BE ADVISED****

The CDC has developed new requirements for dogs who are coming into the US from other countries. This means that regulations are changing for your dogs that you travel back and forth to Canada with, and a rabies certificate alone will no longer be adequate for travel across the border.

Starting August 1st, 2024, all dogs entering the US must:
- Appear healthy upon arrival;
- Be at least six months of age;
- Be microchipped;
- Be accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form online submission receipt; and
- Meet additional requirements depending on country they are traveling from.

When traveling from Canada, your dog must also have either the Certification of US-Issued Rabies Vaccination form OR export health certificate completed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian. The dog also must be microchipped BEFORE getting their rabies vaccine - if not done prior, the rabies vaccine will need to be repeated.

If you are planning to travel to Canada after August 1st, please plan ahead and schedule an appointment with us if your pet will need a microchip, rabies vaccine update, health certificate, or rabies vaccine certification completed.
We must have 45 days notice to ensure we have completed records and requirements.
